New printer.
Was working fine.
Installed new instant ink cartridge, ran alignment task, task completed fine.
Now it prints weird downward curves so that the beginning and end of each line curve down and can't be read clearly.

Cynthia,
I don't know if I ever posted the final answer to my problem. It was not fixable. I threw the printer away. It wasn't very old, but it failed. It just failed. So, I bought a Canon printer to replace it. And it works great.
Hi,
The test page in HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.3 only prints in greyscale but if I select and print the info page under web services settings on the printer it is colour.
I have looked at your whole website where thousands of people are having this issue but do not see that HP has published a solution. Updating the software and clearing the cache does not solve the problem. How can I stop my HP 7520 printer from spitting out paper with one printed line "Cookie: mstshash+Administr" in the middle of the night?
How's the printer connected - wired or wireless?
Please try re-installing the printer driver.
All working thank you!
jon
Hi Asmita,
It's wireless.
I reinstalled the driver and can now print in colour. Many thanks for your help.

Installed the Smart App. I can scan from the app still cannot print. Additionally, the app only allows you to print PDF's and images. I had some PDF's on my desktop tried to print them. I get the same error as trying to print from the desktop directly.
My HP Envy 5546 has stopped printing in colour. It was previously working ok about a week ago when I last tried printing something. I have checked the ink cartridge levels and they are all fine, I did a print diagnostic report which printed out fine. I also copied a colour document which came out fine. I uninstalled and re-installed the device using the latest HP software but it has not made any difference. I have checked the printer driver on the device manager and it says that I have the latest driver installed. Part of the issue now is that when I go to the printer preferences I no longer have an option to select colour printing anymore. When I just tried to print a colour picture from within photo editor, I selected the colour option in the advanced settings output options menu and it changed it back to monochrome and gave me the message 'colour mode was changed from colour because of a conflict with another printer setting'. I don't know what this printer setting is or how to change it/resolve it! Is anyone please able to help me?
Thank you for the update.
Please use a USB cable and connect the printer to the PC and try printing color. if this works, add the printer using a TCP/IP port.
If the issue still persists, try adding a TCP/ IP port -
1) Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the wireless icon at the bottom of the printer screen
2) Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, click the Ports tab and then click Add Port.
3) Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
4) Follow the instructions to add a new port.
5) Try printing.
Have a nice day!!

I had to add a step - "copy document" after "copy"
Only with the index cards. Everything else is perfect. I have the most current driver and firmware installed.
Hi,
I have an Envy 4504. It is connected to my home WiFi. It has an ip address and host name.
When trying to connect to the printer from any of my devices, including my lap top, they do not "see" or discover the printer. If I use WiFi direct (i.e. change my WiFi network connection on my devices to the printers projected WiFi) then I can find the printer and use HP Smart (from my Android, IPad and Laptop). I have tried resetting, restarting and the HP Print and Scan Dr, but it is not able to find the printer.
What am I doing wrong?
Hi
Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.
HP customizes some printers and ink cartridges to meet local customer needs. If you take your printer from one country/region to another country/region, you might not find ink cartridges with the same number on the label as your original ink cartridges. If you install an ink cartridge with a different number on the label, you might see one of the following error messages:
Incompatible Cartridges
Cartridge Not Intended for this Printer
Incorrect Cartridges
We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

hp envy 4504 e-all-in-one series printer wont print on photographic paper and gets jammed every time, tried cleaning the rollers.
When your HP printer fails to line up your printed pages properly, or your printer displays an “alignment failed” error message, your cartridges are likely out of alignment. Alignment issues might occur when scanning or printing, and an Alignment failed or Alignment Unsuccessful error message displays on the printer control panel.
To align the cartridges:
a. Load letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray.
b. Open the printer software on your PC. Search Windows for your printer name. (If you do not have a printer software installed, click here to download)
c. In the printer software, click Print & Scan and then click Maintain Your Printer to access the printer toolbox. The printer toolbox appears.
d. Click Align Cartridges on the Device Services tab. The printer prints an alignment page. e. Follow the on-screen instructions to align the cartridges. Recycle or discard the cartridge alignment sheet later.
For more info on resolving Alignment issues, refer to the steps mentioned in this document.

The ink cartridge on the above named printer has been installed twice and called to trouble shoot. The printer still continues to indicate the following message: The following in cartridge (s) must be replaced. All troubleshooting instructions have been followed as per instructions from your site. Please advise.
Thanks.
