Have been using Envy 6000 for long time. Yesterday there was no wifi connection. Per HP Smart instructions, etc., I turned off printer connection and router, and tried to re-install printer. There is a blinking blue light indicating no connection and through Followed HP Smart directions for re-install. It found printer. Then said "preparing for printer" and then asked to press and release Information button. And then said wait. I waited. Nothing. Finally, it said Try Again. I've tried again several times. Nothing. What's going on?

@Michelle318, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Setup Error Messages!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you encounter an error message while setting up your HP printer, there are certain steps you can follow to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If using a direct connection, verify that the cables are securely plugged in.

Verify Printer Selection:

  • Make sure you have selected the correct printer in your software settings. This is often a common oversight that can lead to error messages.

Correct Printer Driver:

  • Ensure that you are using the correct driver for your printer model. Refer to the documentation supplied with the driver you are using to manage output from your software application to the printer.

Intermediate Device Troubleshooting:

  • If your printer is connected through intermediate devices like switch boxes or cable adapters, try connecting it directly to your computer.

Graphic Language Setting:

  • Confirm that the printer's graphic language setting is correct. Refer to your printer's user guide for instructions on changing the graphics language if necessary.

File Size and Memory:

  • Large file sizes can sometimes cause issues due to memory usage in the printer. If the printer's front panel displays "Out of memory," consider reducing the file size or adding more memory to your printer.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Encountering persistent issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 can be frustrating, especially when you've already taken several measures without success. Here are a few additional steps you might consider:

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure there aren't any paper jams or obstructions in the printer. Check the input and output trays and inside the printer.

Update Firmware:

  • Confirm that the printer firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve known issues.

Reset the Printer:

  • Try performing a hard reset on your printer:
    1. Turn on the printer.
    2. With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
    3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    4. Wait at least 60 seconds.
    5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    6. Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
    7. Turn on the printer and see if the issue persists.

Network Settings:

  • If using network connectivity, ensure that your network is stable. Consider connecting the printer via a USB cable to check if the problem persists.

Consult Printer Logs for Errors:

  • Access the printer’s logs to see if there are any specific error codes. Sometimes these can give more detail about the issue.

Re: Replace Carts with New, Unused Carts

Hi @wieckster

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That’s frustrating, especially since you’ve already tried multiple troubleshooting steps. The "Replace Carts with New, Unused Carts" error on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e could be caused by a firmware issue, cartridge recognition failure, or a setup-related glitch.

Here’s what you can try next:

1. Verify Cartridge Compatibility

  • Ensure the cartridges are genuine HP and match the printer model.
  • Some HP printers require setup cartridges during initial installation—check if your printer needs them.

2. Clean Cartridge Contacts

  • Turn off the printer and remove the cartridges.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the gold contacts on the cartridges.
  • Let them dry completely before reinserting.

3. Perform a Deep Reset

  • Unplug the printer from power and wait 60 seconds.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds while unplugged.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

4. Reset the Printer via HP Smart

  • Open HP Smart and go to Advanced Settings.
  • Scroll down to Restore Defaults and select Restore Factory Defaults.
  • Confirm the reset and wait for the printer to restart.

Try these steps and let me know if you need further assistance! 😊

@Lelenumb,  Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Refer printer's User manual for printer specific steps.

1. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

  • Turn off your printer.
  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer.
  • While holding the Wi-Fi button, turn the printer back on.
  • Keep holding the Wi-Fi button until the light blinks quickly, indicating that the network settings have been reset.

This clears any old Wi-Fi credentials, allowing you to reconfigure the printer for the new network.

2. Reconfigure Printer Wi-Fi Setup

  • Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer again (it should blink rapidly if it’s not already connected).
  • Use the printer’s control panel to reconnect it to your new Wi-Fi.

Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart app or the printer's web-based setup page (accessed via the printer's IP address) to connect the printer to Wi-Fi.

3. Check Your Router’s Compatibility

  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi network is using the 2.4 GHz frequency, as the LaserJet P1102W may not be compatible with 5 GHz networks.
  • If your new router is dual band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure the printer is connecting to the correct band.

HP Officejet 6950 - Not printing Color ink

HP OfficeJet 6950 - After MJM2CN250AR Update, No Color, Only Black

Hello,
After a recent firmware update to MJM2CN250AR, my HP OfficeJet 6950 printer started printing only with black ink. The printer completely ignores color inks

I tried several steps to fix the problem, but none of them helped:

  1. Restart the printer
  2. OOBE restart(complete restart of settings)
  3. Restore to factory settings
  4. Clean the printheads via the internal tool (level 1 to 3, repeated at least 4 times)
  5. Mechanically clean the printhead using a specialized cleaning solution
  6. Diagnostics via HP Print and Scan Doctor
  7. Replace with new ink cartridges (all original)
  8. Restart web services in the printer
  9. Shake all color cartridges to release ink

The problem persists even after these steps. I can't downgrade the firmware - the printer refuses to update (cannot be done due to protection)
I'm wondering if this is a bug caused by the firmware, or if anyone has experienced a similar problem after updating the MJM2CN250AR.

- Thank you for any advice or sharing of experiences.
