@JM_23, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I can appreciate your concern, but the semi-full reset is sent in private because executing these steps on any other model could cause the printer to brick.

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

If the above does not work, I suggest you refer to this guide to factory default the printer: Restore factory defaults on your HP printer | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution! It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Hi @Msstuderus,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the new ink cartridges are compatible with your HP Officejet 6700 Premium printer. Only use genuine HP ink cartridges designed for your specific printer model.

Inspect Cartridges:

  • Remove and Reinstall: Take out the new cartridges and reinstall them properly. Ensure they are seated correctly in their designated slots.
  • Check for Packaging: Make sure you have removed all packaging materials from the new ink cartridges, including protective tapes or seals.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Power off the printer.
  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the new cartridges.
  • Using a lint-free cloth, gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and in the printer.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and then to the printer.
  • Power on the printer and check if the error persists.

Use Setup Cartridges: For initial setup, use the cartridges provided with the printer. They are specifically designed to initialize the printer setup. If you still face issues after installation, consider using original setup cartridges.

I hope this helps.

All lights blinking everyday

I have a new HP 2743E if it’s not used daily all the lights are blinking and it’s not available to be used until it’s turned off and turned back on.

My problem is is I am bedridden most of the time due to a broken back so it’s not like I can go down stairs to turn the darn thing off and turn it back on.

I  actually have 2, one set for mailing labels and one for paper ( we tried switching them and it doesn’t matter whether it’s paper or mailing labels if so is the same problem ) . it was bought so that I could send notes and things to my nurse or my kids down in the living room rather than call or yell through the house.

I’ve read all the troubleshooting and basically it just says turn off then turn it back on, but what if you can’t do that ?IMG_1010.jpegIMG_1009.jpeg

Hi Zoey.

Thank you for the guidance.  I ran through the entire process as you described and successfully resolved the printing issue.

I encountered this same issue a couple of years ago and resolved it but did not document how it was resolved.  I have archived your instructions for future reference should this issue occur once again.

Your prompt support is sincerely appreciated.

@deacont1, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

First, unplug the printer completely, turn off your laptop and router, wait one minute, then power everything back on.

Next, let’s remove any old settings that could be causing problems. On your laptop, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Remove device. Then, go to Device Manager, under Print queues, and uninstall any drivers related to your printer. Now, reinstall it using HP Smart, this is the easiest way to ensure your printer is properly set up.

If the printer still doesn’t show up or keeps going offline, check your Wi-Fi network and make sure it’s connected to the same network as your laptop and phone. If possible, assign the printer a static IP address in your router settings so it doesn’t keep "disappearing."

If all else fails, try a factory reset on the printer (found in the settings menu) and start fresh.

Also, refer to these helpful guides (these are for your reference):

Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer | HP® Support

HP printer is offline or unavailable | HP® Support

HP Printers - Printer isn't available error (Android) | HP® Support

HP printer not found by the HP Smart app or operating system | HP® Support

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Re: Printer is printing blurred pages

@Ziggy64, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet 2820e All-in-One Printer is printing blurred or fuzzy pages, even though ink levels appear fine, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Step-by-Step Fixes:

Check Paper Quality and Type

  • Use plain, white, inkjet-compatible paper.
  • Make sure the paper isn't damp, curled, or loaded improperly.

Run the Printer Head Cleaning Tool

Blurry prints are often caused by clogged nozzles.

Here’s how to run the cleaning:

  1. Open the HP Smart App on your PC or phone.
  2. Click on your printer > Printer Settings> Tools.
  3. Select Clean Printheads (might be listed under "Print Quality Tools").
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts and print a test page.
  • If it still looks bad, repeat the cleaning 1–2 more times, but not more than that in one session.

Align the Printheads

  1. In the HP Smart App, go to Printer Settings> Tools.
  2. Select Align Printhead.
  3. Follow the instructions and scan the alignment page if prompted.

Check Ink Cartridges Physically

Even if the ink levels show "OK":

  • Open the cartridge access door and check for ink smudges or leaks.
  • Ensure both cartridges are seated firmly and snapped into place.
  • Remove and reinsert them if unsure.

Check Print Settings

  • When printing, go to the Print Properties/Preferences dialog.
  • Set print quality to “Best” or “Normal” (avoid “Draft”).
  • Ensure the paper type matches what you loaded (Plain Paper, Photo Paper, etc.).

Update Printer Firmware

Sometimes blurry printing is caused by software bugs.

  • Open HP Smart App> Printer Settings > Advanced Settings> Tools> Printer Updates.

🔧 If Nothing Works:

Try printing a diagnostic page from the printer itself: Press and hold the Cancel (X) and Start Copy Color buttons at the same time – this usually prints a report.

If the blur is only with one color, it may be a cartridge issue even if it’s showing as “ok”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

@NLI1, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check the duplexer (two-sided printing part):

Open the duplexer and look for any paper stuck or dust inside. Clean it gently with a cloth.

Check Paper Alignment:

Make sure the paper in the tray is properly aligned. The paper should fit tightly against the sides and be flat.

Check Duplex Settings:

Go to the printer settings and make sure duplex (two-sided printing) is turned on.

Try printing a test duplex page directly from the printer to see if the problem is with the printer or computer.

Reset the printer:

Turn off the printer, hold down the Cancel and Resume buttons, then turn the printer back on. This resets it and can help clear glitches.

Reinstall Driver and Update Firmware:

Even if the driver seems fine, try reinstalling it from the HP website. Also, check for any available firmware updates for your printer.

Check Network Connection: Ensure that both your printer and the device you are printing from are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. The printer's wireless light should be solid blue, indicating it is connected.

Use HP Smart App: Download and open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. Use the "Diagnose & Fix" tool within the app to automatically resolve any issues.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This tool can automatically detect and fix various printing issues.
