Re: Printhead Problem
@McBur, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is displaying a Printhead Problem error that won’t clear, try the following troubleshooting steps:
Restart the Printer
Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
Wait for 2-3 minutes and then plug it back in.
Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.
Reseat the Printhead (If Removable)
Open the printer cover and remove the ink cartridges.
If the printhead is removable, carefully lift it out and then reinsert it.
Reinstall the ink cartridges and close the printer cover.
Clean the Printhead
If your printer allows printhead cleaning, use the printer’s built-in cleaning cycle from the Printer Maintenance menu.
If the printhead is removable, clean the electrical contacts gently with a lint-free cloth and distilled water (avoid touching the nozzles).
Check Ink Cartridges
Ensure that the ink cartridges are genuine HP cartridges.
Remove and reinstall them securely.
If the error started after replacing cartridges, try using another set.
Update the Printer Firmware
Go to HP support website and check for any available firmware updates.
Install the update and restart the printer.
Reset the Printer
Unplug the printer while it is ON.
Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Re: 4*6 PAPER PRINTING MISTAKE
@Hima565, Thanks for the update! It looks like the issue is related to how the printer handles different paper types. Here’s what I suggest to get the correct print size while maintaining high photo quality:
Change Scaling to "Actual Size" or "Custom"
- Right now, your Scaling is set to "Shrink to fit".
- Try changing it to "Actual Size" or manually setting a Custom Scale (100%).
Steps:
- Open Print Settings.
- Under Scaling, select "Actual Size" instead of "Shrink to Fit".
- If there's no "Actual Size" option, set Custom Scale = 100%.
- Print and check if the size issue is fixed.
Use "HP Photo Paper" Instead of "Glossy Paper"
- If you're using third-party glossy photo paper, the printer might be misinterpreting the paper thickness.
- Try selecting "HP Photo Papers" instead of generic "Glossy Paper".
Manually Set Print Margins (If Available)
- If borderless printing expands the image too much, check if there's a Margin or Expansion setting in the Advanced Options.
- If possible, reduce image expansion to prevent cropping.
Print Using a Different Software
If the issue continues, try printing from another app like: ✅HP Smart
✅Microsoft Photos
✅Adobe Photoshop or IrfanView (For more control)
These apps sometimes handle paper types and scaling better than the default print dialog.
Print in "Plain Paper" Mode for Glossy Paper (As a Workaround)
Since printing in Plain Paper mode gives the correct size, but lower quality, you can:
- Set Paper Type = Plain Paper even when using Glossy.
- Increase Print Quality to Best or Maximum.
- See if the print quality improves.
I hope this helps!
If my response resolves your issue, please click “Accepted Solution” to help others find the answer. Also, don’t forget to click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up” button to say thanks!
Take care and have a great day.

Re: Paper Jam
@Vignesh051, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding paper jam issues!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Before arranging a service engineer, let’s try a few troubleshooting steps that might resolve the issue quickly.
Try These Steps:
Power Off & Inspect: Turn off the printer and unplug it for safety. Open the paper tray and output area to check for any jammed paper.
Gently Remove Paper: If you find any stuck paper, pull it out slowly in the direction of the paper path. Avoid tearing it.
Check Rollers: If the paper is stuck deep inside, check the rollers for any debris or damage. Wipe them with a lint-free cloth if needed.
Reset the Printer: Plug it back in, turn it on, and try printing again.
A Few Questions to Pinpoint the Issue:
Is the paper jamming in a specific spot, like the input tray or inside the printer?
Are you using the recommended paper type and size for your printer model?
Have you recently replaced or adjusted any parts like the paper tray or rollers?
Also, which HP Unit are you using?
Let me know what you find! If the issue persists, I’ll guide you on the next steps, including arranging a service if needed.
Looking forward to your update!

Re: Hp a640 photos corruption message
@Lbell70, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP A640!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Since this is an older printer, the issue might be related to outdated drivers or firmware. Here are a few things to try:
Check for Driver Updates
HP officially stopped updating drivers for some older models, but you can still try downloading the latest available version from HP support website.
Try a Different Connection Method
If you're using a USB connection, try a different port or cable.
If you’re printing wirelessly, reconnect the printer to your network and check if the issue persists.
Check for Firmware Updates
Some older HP printers had firmware updates that fixed bugs like this. If your printer has a firmware update option in its settings, try updating from there.
Print from Another Format
If you're printing images, try saving them in a different format (JPEG instead of PNG, for example) and see if the issue continues.
Reset the Printer
A factory reset could help clear out any old settings that might be causing issues. You can usually find this option in the printer’s menu under "Setup" > "Reset Settings."
Let me know if any of these steps help, or if you need more details! Happy to troubleshoot further. 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Re: hp 2500ps printer error 61:08.2
Hi @brucefrohlich,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
The error code 61:08.2 you are experiencing indicates a memory overflow error. Here are several steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Clear the Print Queue: Ensure that the print queue is clear before starting a new print job. Sometimes, leftover data in the print queue can cause memory overflow.
Check Print File Size: Ensure that the print files you are sending to the printer are not excessively large. Large files can cause the printer’s memory to overflow.
Reduce Print File Complexity: If possible, simplify the print file by reducing the resolution or complexity. This will help in decreasing the amount of memory required for the print job.
Upgrade Printer Memory: If you frequently print large and complex files, consider upgrading the printer’s memory. Check the printer’s manual for compatible memory options.
Restart the Printer: Perform a hard reset on the printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord.
- Wait for about one minute.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
Firmware Update: Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

Printer Status: Printer Cannot Print
I am trying to print some documents but my printer has stopped working an has also printed out a printer report. It states: "A problem has occurred and you will be unable to print. Except for printer reports. Until the issue is resolved. Check your HP account for more information. To learn more, open the HP Smart App or visit [HP website] and sign in to your account." The supply status is normal and the connection strength is excellent. When I check the App, it only says the warranty has expired. What steps can I take next to help resolve the issue?
