HP @Kim1912,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

As I understand you are getting blank pages from the Deskjet 2700e printer, please try the steps shared below to try and resolve the issue

Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.

Clean the printhead (HP Smart app)

1. Clean the printhead (HP Smart app)

Use the HP Smart app to clean the printhead and fix many print quality issues including incorrect colors, streaks, and faded printouts.

  1. Load plain white paper into the tray.
  2. Open the HP Smart app, and then click the image of your printer to open the settings and management tools.
  3. Under Tools, click Print Quality Tools, and then select Clean Printhead or Clean.

A Cleaning printhead message displays, and a test page prints.

Example of test page printouts

Examples of a test page

4. Examine the print quality on the test page.

  • If the print quality is acceptable, you are done troubleshooting.
  • If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Yes in the HP Smart app to perform a second-level and third-level cleaning, which are more thorough and take a few extra minutes to complete.

Note:

Printheads that are badly clogged might require another printhead cleaning cycle. Wait at least 30 minutes before cleaning the printhead again.

Clean the ink smears (HP Smart app)

Use the HP Smart app to clean printhead contacts and improve any print quality issues.

  1. Open the HP Smart app, and then click the image of your printer to open the settings and management tools.
  2. Under Tools, click Alignment & Maintenance.

If the Alignment & Maintenance is not available, click Advanced Settings to open the printer Embedded Web Server (EWS), and then click Tools. Click Utilities, and then click Print Quality Toolbox.

       3. Under Clean Up, click Clean Smear or Clean Ink Smear.

A Rib Smear cleaning in progress message displays, and the printer feeds one page slowly. The printer might make some noise for a minute before it is done.

Check ink cartridges

Very low ink levels, using non-HP cartridges, and rough handling can cause print quality issues.

  1. Replace any non-HP or refilled cartridges with genuine HP cartridges. HP supplies are available from the HP Store and local retailers.

HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP or refilled cartridges. Go to HP Anti Counterfeiting and Fraud Program for more information.

       2. Check the ink levels and replace any low or empty cartridges.

Note:

The printer features a 'backup mode' that enables printing with one cartridge. Remove the low or empty cartridge to continue printing if a replacement is not available. Depending on the cartridge removed, blacks will not be as dark and color prints will be in grayscale.

Ink levels

3. Rough handling of cartridges during transport or installation can cause print quality problems. Wait a few hours for the automatic servicing routine to complete, and then try to print again.

4. If a cartridge is bad, replace it. If you have a defective HP cartridge, it might be under warranty. Go to About Original HP Cartridges for page yield and HP Limited Warranty information to see if a cartridge is still in warranty.

3. Rough handling of cartridges during transport or installation can cause print quality problems. Wait a few hours for the automatic servicing routine to complete, and then try to print again.

  1. Check the paper, print settings, and quality of the file being printed

Make sure your print job is set up for optimal print quality results.

  1. 1.  Check the paper type and condition: Make sure the paper is appropriate for the print   job and in good condition.
    • Some paper might not absorb ink as well as others, causing faded or smeared prints. Plain paper with ColorLok technology works well for text and documents with graphics. For photos, use HP Advanced Photo Paper for best results.
    • Use clean, wrinkle-free paper. Wrinkled or curled paper can cause dark, horizontal defects.
  1. Load paper according to the print side: Typically, the smoother or glossy side is the print side.
    • For inkjet printers with a rear load tray, load the print side facing up.
    • For inkjet printers with a front load tray, load the print side facing down.
  2. Check the print job settings: From the application you are printing from, click File > Print, and then click OptionsPrinter Setup, or Preferences, or open the Paper Type/Quality or Media & Quality menu.
  3. Make sure the color, paper type, paper size, and quality settings are correct for your print job.

    1. Check the quality of the photo or document: Use editing tools to improve colors, brightness, contrast, and any other appearance settings. Higher resolution photographs and graphics result in clearer prints with more accurate colors.

Print an alignment page with the HP Smart App

Use the HP Smart app to align the printhead.

    1. Load plain white paper into the tray.
    2. Open the HP Smart app, and then click the image of your printer or Printer Settings.
    3. Under Tools, click Print Quality Tools, and then select Align PrinterAlign Printheads, or Align.

An Aligning printhead message displays and an alignment page prints.

    1. If the alignment page includes instructions to scan the page, follow the instructions to finish the alignment process.

Example alignment page with instructions to finish by scanning the page

    Hi @cheryl19581108,

    Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

    If your printer displays an "error: printer needs to be enrolled in HP Instant Ink," it means you are trying to use HP Instant Ink cartridges in a printer that isn't currently subscribed to the HP Instant Ink service;

I recommend you turn off the web service using the steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04808536

Please uninstall the HP Smart app --> restart the Device, Wi-Fi router and printer --> install it back and add the Printer back, login to the HP Instant ink account and check

    I hope this helps.

    Hi @btas,

    Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Print jobs get stuck in the queue when a device stops printing in the middle of a job. This can happen for a variety of reasons, from a sudden power outage, low ink, no paper, a paper jam to interference by third-party firewall software. The fastest way to identify and fix issues for a Windows PC is our HP Print and Scan Doctor app. If you have a different operating system, our Virtual Assistant can guide you through clearing your queue, or you can follow the manual troubleshooting steps below.

Also, please use the HP Video link, this will help in fixing the print queue issue.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Please update the Firmware, from the link, this will help on how to update the firmware on the printer or devices

If you still face an issue, try to clean the contacts quickly enough that the cartridges are not outside of the printer for more than 30 minutes. The ink can dry and clog the nozzles if the cartridges are outside of the printer for too long.

    1, Remove the cartridges
2, Place the cartridges on a piece of paper with the nozzle plate facing up.
3, Unplug the printer power cord.
4, Lightly moisten the lint-free cleaning material with clean water.
5, Clean the cartridge contacts. Avoid touching the nozzles. Replace the cleaning material if it gets dirty.
6, Clean the carriage contacts. Use new cleaning material if the material used on the cartridge contacts is no longer clean.
7, Let the parts dry for five minutes before reinserting the cartridges.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have a brand new Smart Tank 6001 printer and am trying to print labels in color.

I have encountered several instances where the printer successfully prints the first few inches of the document, and then the ink being applied starts to become faded, and the print job errors out and doesn't print the rest of the sheet, see image attached.

I've gone through some troubleshooting and debug steps and they find no issues, the  test sheets print successfully, but the issue keeps coming back, intermittently.

What is wrong and what can I do to fix it?  Or should I return this printer to the store where I bought it?  Thanks!

I purchased printer and HP Ink cartridges (as described on the box) however I'm unable to print because my ink cartridges I purchased are not "remote" The customer support indicated the ink I have will NOT work? Frustrating I spent over $50 already.

I opted out their Ink subscription and Im being told I may need to subscribe... however, I have no interest in paying a monthly fee.

The customer number I called was 1-866-747-7756, during call I was transferred 3 times. (I believe the calls were overseas tech support) What's worse as were troubleshooting  "Chris" (I had to ask him to repeat question, his accent was hard for me) indicated he needed to see my ink cartridges so I allowed him remote access to iPhone ( he text a link) He wanted to order me the correct ink cartridges so he asked for my address, what surprised me- he apparently google mapped  my home and told me he did. (Why would he do that?)  So he claimed he will be sending me a free supply of cartridges but it It took him long  to process and he was silence. I kept asking what's the delay? (darn near 5m),I felt very uncomfortable and hung up.

Today, I still can't print!!!  even after I connect a hardwire to the printer port, it still sends me an error page of the ink not being supported. ( Im so frustrated I plan on taking this printer back and currently Im unable to reach anyone else in support- I lost trust.
