I bought new ink cartridges in September and since I installed them they haven't worked properly. I've tried cleaning the vents, wiping the copper cartridge readers, and doing all printer maintenance like cleaning the printhead. The ink warranty doesn't end until May 2026, but because I marked that the cartridges are reading as low, I don't qualify for a replacement. I should qualify for a replacement because I haven't even been able to print anything with them. After going through the prompts with the virtual assistant, the answer is the same. I need to be able to call or email a real person about getting a replacement.
New ink cartridges showing low ink, how to get replacements
Re: HP Smart Tank 7602 stuck at Verifying after Web Services Update
@ArtWalkerCO Wow, thanks for this information, I'm trying it now. I haven't gotten it to work yet, though. I do see the lights on the USB stick flash during boot up like it is reading the drive, but I still go to the verifying screen. I'll try the various flash options from the boot loader now.
Did you get your printer all the way back?
HP8620 printer error
I just started to get a Printer Failure message (no code) that says “There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn the printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP”. I have done multiple factory resets, etc to no avail. When i power the printer on it immediately give me an error. It is not responsive when I try to use my Mac to update the firmware. Please advise what to do.
Re: HP Smart Tank 7602 stuck at Verifying after Web Services Update
@ArtWalkerCO - This is so awesome, my printer is fixed! Now, what do I do with the Canon Maxify I already bought to replace the HP 6702? Haha, it looks like I own 2 printers now. And my trust is in the Canon, because not only was an HP firmware update 100% at fault, but HP told me on the phone my printer was bricked and tried to sell me a new printer. However the printer was not bricked, it just needed a stranger on the Internet to help me when HP would not. Thanks so much for this solution.

Re: HP Smart Tank 7602 stuck at Verifying after Web Services Update
@Bucci99 - Great to hear! Because I failed to take notes when I was attempting this, did the printer recognize the firmware update by powering up the printer with the USB drive inserted or did the "reflash" option from the boot loader do the trick?
Printer failure
Hello
I have an Officejet Pro 8600 and it keeps giving me an error message "Print failure". I can't remove the message and it won't let me go to the homescreen. If I remove the cartridges only then can I access the homescreen for settings, etc.
I also click/tap the ‘?’ Button and it doesn’t tell me anything.
I’ve purchased new inks also but that’s didn’t help it.
please help me. I don’t want to have to buy another one

@DeeBee8, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check for JavaScript or Web Application Issues (for web-based control)
The error message you mentioned (TypeError: this._dynJsObj.ProductSettings is undefined) suggests an issue with a JavaScript error on the web interface (likely related to HP's printer management software). You can take the following advanced steps to troubleshoot this:
Clear browser cache and disable extensions:
- Sometimes, corrupted browser cache or conflicting extensions can cause issues with web applications. Clear your browser cache, and disable any browser extensions that could be interfering with the page.
- Use the Developer Tools in your browser (press F12 or Ctrl+Shift+I) to check for any console errors related to the page and ensure no JavaScript issues are preventing functionality.
Test in Incognito/Private Mode:
- Open your browser in Incognito Mode (Chrome) or Private Mode (Firefox) to ensure no cookies or cached data are interfering with the page. Try accessing the web-based printer settings from there.
Try Another Browser:
- If you're accessing the printer's web interface through a browser, try using a different browser (e.g., Firefox instead of Chrome) to see if the issue is browser-specific.
Update Browser:
- Make sure your browser is fully updated. Browser updates can fix compatibility issues with modern JavaScript frameworks, which could potentially resolve the error.
Check and Update Printer's Web Services Settings (for Network Printers)
If you're using a network-connected printer (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), you can access its embedded web server (EWS) via a web browser. This can be useful for troubleshooting communication issues:
Access the EWS:
- On the printer's control panel, print a Network Configuration Page (typically found under the Network or Wireless Settings menu). This page will contain the printer’s IP address.
- Enter the IP address into your web browser (e.g., http://192.168.1.100) to access the printer’s EWS (Embedded Web Server).
Check Web Services:
- In the EWS, go to Settings or Advanced Settings, and ensure that the Web Services (e.g., HP ePrint, AirPrint, etc.) are enabled and working properly. Disable and then re-enable these services if necessary.
- Look for any unusual messages, such as service errors, or try running a network test from within the EWS.
Check the Printer's Network Settings:
- Ensure the printer is connected to the right network and that there are no IP conflicts.
- If using a static IP address, make sure it doesn't conflict with other devices on the network.
Check Printer Logs (for Advanced Users)
If the printer supports logging (many HP OfficeJet printers do), you can access the printer logs via the EWS or the printer’s control panel. This could provide more insight into why the error is occurring.
Access Logs via Printer's EWS:
- Go to Settings> Reports> Event Log or Printer Logs.
- Review any logs that could indicate why the software is throwing the error.
Advanced Configuration via Embedded Web Server:
- Check for any Advanced Printer Settings or Diagnostic Reports in the EWS. Some printers allow you to run diagnostic tools or generate logs for specific issues.
Re: error b83980f2 on hp officejet pro 9010
Reinstall the Printer Software (Advanced)
If the error persists, it's possible that the printer software on your computer is corrupted or malfunctioning.
Uninstall Printer Software Completely:
- Go to Control Panel> Programs> Uninstall a program, and uninstall any HP printer software and drivers.
- Afterward, use HP's Print and Scan Doctor (available on the HP website) to uninstall all HP components that might not have been removed completely.
Manually Delete Leftover Printer Files:
- Sometimes, leftover files and registry entries can cause issues. You may need to clean up the installation folder:
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP (or a similar directory) and delete any leftover HP printer files.
- You may also want to use a registry cleaner like CCleaner to clean up any leftover registry entries related to the printer.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Download the latest drivers and software from the HP support website for your printer model and reinstall them.
- After installation, reboot your computer and test the printer again.
Check the Printer’s Communication Protocols
Since your error message involves JavaScript and potential issues with settings, it's possible that communication protocols between your printer and the software have become misconfigured. Here's what you can do:
Ensure SNMP is Enabled:
- If you're using SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) for communication, make sure it's enabled on both the printer and the software. You can find SNMP settings under Network> Advanced Settings in the printer's EWS.
Check for Port Conflicts:
- If the printer is connected via a network, make sure there are no conflicts with the ports used by the printer. The printer may be trying to communicate on a port that is blocked or used by another device.
- Use the Port Check feature in your router or network setup to verify that the required ports for the printer’s communication (e.g., HTTP, SNMP) are open.
Perform a Deep Diagnostic Test (for Hardware Issues)
If you've tried all software-related troubleshooting steps without success, it could be worth performing a deep diagnostic test to check for any hardware-related issues that might be triggering the error:
- Run Printer’s Self-Diagnostics:
- Many HP OfficeJet printers have built-in diagnostic tools that can be accessed via the control panel. Go to Setup> Tools> Printer Diagnostics.
- This tool can test individual components and give you feedback on whether any part of the printer is malfunctioning.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

Information access in Printer Assistant
HP ENVY 6055e printer--in printer assistant Tools, it says "can't establish a two way connection with USB device." All aspects of the printer work just fine but I can't access ink info or general info and the like because of this error. Haven't been able to solve it. Any suggestions? RC
Re: How to install software in a formatted mfp m528 printer
If the drive is blank you need to install the firmware from the Pre-boot menu. the instructions can be found in the readme file for the firmware update that is posted on support.hp.com
Re: I need technical assistance for my HP PRO 4303FDW printer in São Paulo, Brazil.
Simply replacing the power supply will not make a 110V printer a 220V printer. The fuser unit is powered directly off the mains as well so it would need to be replaced.
Re: HP m776dn operation hang on error 46.00.04 Syst
46 series errors are caused by a print job that contains commands the printer does not understand. Make sure your firmware is up to date and try printing a different file.

Printing problem
Hi,
My printer prints a few lines of code on each page instead of the requested document.
The printer empties my sheet tray by printing a few lines of code on each sheet.
I reinstalled the printer and the problem was solved, but it came back some time later.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
