Re: Getting error message Job Aborted: Certificae fetchin

Hi @Martie05,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand how frustrating it can be to encounter error messages, especially when you're trying to print something important. Let's work through this together to resolve the issue with your HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni printer.

  • Did the error message start appearing immediately after using the Norton Driver Updater, or was it present before?
  • Have you tried printing from different applications to see if the issue persists across all of them?
  • Are you able to access the printer's web interface via its IP address to check for any security certificate-related warnings?

Remove and Reinstall the Printer Driver:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Remove device.
  • Download and install the latest driver from the HP support website.
  • Avoid using third-party driver updater tools, as they may install incompatible drivers.

Clear Print Queue and Restart Print Spooler:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and find Print Spooler.
  • Right-click, select Stop, then go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS and delete any files in the folder.
  • Restart the Print Spooler service and try printing again.

Check Security and Firewall Settings:

  • Norton security software may block communication with the printer.
  • Temporarily disable Norton and try printing again to see if it resolves the issue. If it does, adjust Norton’s settings to allow printer communication.

Manually Install a Generic Driver:

  • Go to Devices and Printers > Add Printer, select Add a local printer, and choose HP Universal Print Driver (PCL6 or PostScript) as an alternative driver.
  • This can bypass potential driver issues related to certificates.

Reset Printer Network and Security Settings:

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to Network Settings > Restore Defaults to reset the network and security configurations.
  • Then reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi or Ethernet and try printing again.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Amtmatopt,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand how frustrating it must be when your printer suddenly stops working on your devices after it was working perfectly the day before. Let’s work together to get it back up and running.

  • Have you tried restarting both your computer and the printer to see if the connection restores?
  • Is your printer connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your devices?
  • Have there been any recent software updates or changes on your computer or iPhone that might have affected the connection?

Make sure, your printer and your device are on the same network as 2.4GHZ only.

Restart Devices and Printer:

  • Turn off your printer, computer, and router. Wait for 30 seconds, then power them back on and try printing again.

Remove and Re-add the Printer:

  • On your IDEAPAD, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, remove the printer, and then add it again by selecting "Add a printer or scanner."
  • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth & Wi-Fi > Printers, and remove/re-add the printer in the HP Smart app (if applicable).

Check Wi-Fi Connectivity:

  • Ensure that your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your husband's, and verify that the signal strength is strong near the printer.

Update Printer Drivers and Software:

  • On your IDEAPAD, visit the HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Update the HP Smart app on your iPhone to the latest version via the App Store.

Set the Printer as Default and Clear Print Queue:

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select "Set as default."
  • Clear any pending print jobs that might be stuck in the queue.

Printer start printing gibberish after a few pages.

When I print some jobs, it prints good for a few pages then it starts printing page after page with just 1 or 2 lines of gibberish at the top then goes to the next page. If I don't turn the printer off it will print all the supply in the printer. I have updated the driver, and I have only had better luck sometimes using Firefox browser.

I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer won’t respond and only shows an error message, especially when you need to print something important. Let’s work together to resolve this issue.

  • Are you seeing any specific error codes or messages on your computer or printer display?
  • Have you recently made any changes to your computer, printer settings, or Wi-Fi network?
  • Is the printer connected via USB or Wi-Fi, and have you tried printing from a different device?

Hi @Briggsmama,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with paper-feeding issues, especially after cleaning the rollers. Let's work together to get this resolved so you can start printing again.

  • Did the paper feeding issue start suddenly, or has it been happening for a while?
  • After cleaning the rollers, did you notice any improvements, or does the issue persist?
  • Is the paper properly aligned and loaded in the tray, with no obstructions?

Perform the steps from this document and see if that helps.

Hi @DLESTER56,

Information button: Print out a printer information page on its current status.

Information light: If the light is blinking in white and the Wi-Fi Direct icon on the display is blinking fast at the same time, press the Information button to confirm a connection.

If it is amber (possibly blinking), it indicates an HP Instant Ink warning or error. Press the button to print an information page, check the HP Instant Ink section for diagnostic results, and then follow the instructions on the page.

Could you press the information button to print an information page and share it?

Hello.  My HP8600 printer has suddenly stopped working.  The on/off button doesn't seem to  work anymore and therefore I cant use the printer.  The printer is in really good condition, even if its quite a few years old.  Its not been used very heavily at all.   Can it be repaired?  I have loads of cartridges left for it!  Any advice would be gratefully received.  Thanks.

    • Verify the printer's IP address matches your computer's network.

Go officejet pro 8710 won’t print

Printer is not printing, copying or scanning.  I have rebooted my computer and printer.  I have reset the printer to it factory settings. I have deleted and reinstalled the software and it still does not.  When I send a document to print the printer responds but it does not complete the request.  The print jobs stay one queue but don’t print.  I have also removed the ink and paper tray and blew out any dust to ensure that is the cause.  I have documents that I need to print but the printer is not completing the task.

Hi @roberta152,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the "Validating Please Wait" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e can indicate an issue with the printer recognizing the cartridge or a problem with the firmware. Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  2. Wait for 2-3 minutes to allow the printer to reset completely.
  3. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
  4. Check if the "Validating Please Wait" message disappears.

2. Check the Cartridge

  1. Open the cartridge access door and ensure:
    • The new cartridge is installed correctly.
    • There is no protective tape or residue on the cartridge's copper contacts.
  2. Clean the electrical contacts of the cartridge and the printhead gently using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.

3. Reinstall the Cartridge

  1. Remove the new cartridge and the old cartridge from the printer.
  2. Power off the printer.
  3. Turn it back on and reinstall the cartridge:
    • Install the old cartridge first to check if the issue is with the new cartridge.
    • If the old cartridge works fine, try reinstalling the new one.

4. Update Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

If the message persists, you can update the firmware using HP Smart on your computer:

  1. Open the HP Smart app and connect to the printer.
  2. Go to Printer Settings and look for Advanced Settings or Web Services.
  3. Select Printer Maintenance> Update Firmware.
    • If the printer is stuck in a busy state, disconnect it from WiFi temporarily to access settings via USB or from a computer.

5. Check Cartridge Compatibility

Ensure the cartridge is genuine and compatible:

  • For the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e, use HP 962 or HP 962XL cartridges.

6. Restore Factory Defaults

  1. Press and hold the Back and Home buttons on the printer panel until a support menu appears.
  2. Navigate to Restore Factory Defaults.
  3. Once reset, reconfigure the printer and check if the issue is resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
