HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw will not print Black

Started trying to fix the colour printing that was aligned.  I've updated calibrations, restored to factory resets and performed hard resets including removing the cartridges.  What do I do now?

Hello,

 

I’m experiencing an issue when trying to print from my HP Color LaserJet Pro M478f-9f using my Apple MacBook. Every time I attempt to print, I receive an error message stating “Expired Certificate - Check the printer for errors,” and the print job gets paused.

 

Could you please help me understand why this error is occurring and how I can resolve it? I suspect it might be related to the security certificate settings, but I’m unsure of how to proceed. Any guidance or steps to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

My HP desk jet has been turned off for about 2 weeks as we have been moving. I have just set it up again with a new wifi and have changed the ink cartridges. 
It’s now saying I can’t print and the information light is on.  The only thing that is printing is an information report that is showing my network and that j need to visit hpsmart.com  

I’m not sure what the issue is as it hasn’t given me one and I am unable to see any help from the website

Thanks, the cartridge sent by HP Instant ink is larger than the one supplied with the printer, but as described it is actually the right one, the issue is that the cartridge supplied with the printer is just smaller.

Hi Irwin6,

I followed all your advices but they didn't help. Wenn I plug in the power cord, the printer starts with its screen but not with sound of any motor. After a while the error-code appears for a second. Then white screen and all LEDs are blinking. 

I found no way to communicate with the printer.

MY PRINTER WAS WORKING CORRECTLY AND SUDDENLY IT STOP DOING IT, THE QUESTION SYMBOL FLASHES. I PRESS IT AND IT PRINTS A TEST SHEET BUT NOTHING ABOUT THE REST.

IN THE HP SMART APP I GET "THE PRINTER CANNOT PRINT"

WPS pin is from printers menu. I start the WPS procedure with pin and printer gives me one kn display. I enter it in routers web interface page.

But as it fails connecting with wifi name and password I think the problem in wpa wpa2 or any other wifi settings in router.

I've followed steps for factory resetting but nothing happened.

I managed to  access audit mode and tried factory resetting and firmware upgrade using USB but failed

(Updating USB001: Sent successful, FW validation timeout)

No WIFI connection is available , only USB worked

The screen went to a flashing black/white screen once I replaced the black ink cartridge. It said the ink cartridge had an error. So, I replaced it with the old one, and then the screen went to flashing.

The printer has been printing flawlessly off my 2023 Android tablet until just now. Won't  let my wife print off her old 2017 Apple tablet either. Could it be a software update? I've reset the printer to factory settings and still won't print.

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that has an ink system failure error.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

 

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

 

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

 

C) Refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.

 

D) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to restore factory defaults and let me know if that resolves the issue.

If your HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer is showing a red light and won't print despite the HP Smart app showing it as okay, here are some steps you can try.

 

Check the Cartridge Status:

  • Ensure the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty or low on ink. The flashing red light often indicates an issue with the cartridges.
  • Open the front access door and make sure both cartridges are seated correctly.
  • If the ink levels are low, try replacing the cartridges.

Clear Paper Jams:

  • Check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Remove any stuck paper or debris.
  • Make sure there are no torn pieces of paper left inside after clearing the jam.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source and leave it unplugged for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug it back in, power it on, and try printing again.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Open the HP Smart app and check for any available firmware updates for your printer. Install any updates if available.
  • Outdated firmware may cause communication or functionality issues.

Reinstall the Printer Driver:

  • Sometimes, reinstalling the printer driver can resolve issues.
  • Go to your device’s Control Panel> Devices and Printers> right-click on your printer and select Remove device.
  • Then, reinstall the printer through HP Smart or your system's Add a Printer function.

Factory Reset the Printer:
