Hi @Mzgee,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're trying to connect your HP printer to your Wi-Fi network but don't have the Wi-Fi password (passcode), here's what you can do:

1. Locate the Wi-Fi Router:

  • The Wi-Fi password is usually located on a sticker or label on your Wi-Fi router or modem.
  • Look for a sticker with the network name (SSID) and the password (often labeled as "WPA Key" or "Wireless Password").

2. Check Router Configuration:

  • If you can't find the password on the router itself, you can access your router's configuration page using a web browser.
  • Enter your router's IP address in the address bar of your browser (common addresses include 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) and log in using the router's username and password (usually found on the router itself).
  • Once logged in, navigate to the wireless settings or security settings section to find the Wi-Fi password.

3. Contact Your Internet Service Provider (ISP):

  • If you're unable to locate the Wi-Fi password using the methods above, you can contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for assistance.
  • Your ISP should be able to provide you with the Wi-Fi password associated with your account.

4. Reset the Wi-Fi Password:

  • If you're unable to retrieve the Wi-Fi password through any other means, you may need to reset the Wi-Fi password.
  • Keep in mind that resetting the Wi-Fi password will disconnect all devices currently connected to the Wi-Fi network.
  • To reset the Wi-Fi password, you'll need to access your router's configuration page and navigate to the wireless settings section. Look for an option to change or reset the Wi-Fi password and follow the on-screen instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @JSinPasadena,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To update the firmware on your HP Smart Tank 7301 printer, you can follow these steps:

Using the HP Smart App (Windows or macOS):

Download and Install HP Smart App: If you haven't already, download and install the HP Smart app on your Windows or macOS computer from the official HP website or your app store.

Open HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart app on your computer.

Add Your Printer: If your printer is not already added to the HP Smart app, you'll need to add it. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer to the app.

Check for Updates: Once your printer is added to the HP Smart app, navigate to the "Printers" or "Settings" section. Look for an option related to firmware or printer updates.

Download and Install Firmware Update: If a firmware update is available, you'll see an option to download and install it. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Restart Printer: After the firmware update is installed, restart your printer to apply the changes.

Using the Printer Control Panel:

Check Current Firmware Version: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the "Settings" or "Setup" menu. Look for an option that allows you to view the current firmware version.

Connect to Internet: Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet. You may need to connect it to your Wi-Fi network if it's not already connected.

Check for Updates: Navigate to the "Settings" or "Support" menu on the printer's control panel. Look for an option to check for firmware updates.

Download and Install Update: If a firmware update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install it. The printer may restart automatically during the update process.

Verify Update: After the update is complete, check the firmware version again to verify that the update was successful.

Using HP Support Website:

Visit HP Support Website: Go to the official HP support website and navigate to the "Drivers and Downloads" section.

Enter Printer Model: Enter your HP Smart Tank 7301 printer model number and select your operating system.

Download Firmware Update: If a firmware update is available, you'll see it listed in the available downloads. Download the firmware update file to your computer.

Install Firmware Update: Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update file to install it on your printer. This may involve transferring the firmware file to a USB drive and then installing it directly from the printer's control panel.

Restart Printer: After the firmware update is installed, restart your printer to apply the changes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @RuthAnn2018,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering an error message on your HP printer indicating that the black cartridge you installed is being recognized as a setup cartridge, even though it's the same type you've been using previously. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

1. Check Cartridge Compatibility:

Ensure that the HP black cartridge 65 you purchased is compatible with your specific printer model. Sometimes, cartridges may be similar but not compatible with certain printer models.

2. Reinstall Cartridge:

Try removing the cartridge from the printer and reinstalling it. Make sure it's securely seated in the cartridge slot and properly aligned.

3. Clean Cartridge Contacts:

Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Carefully remove the cartridge and inspect the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and the printer. Clean any dirt or debris from the contacts using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridge.

4. Reset Printer:

Perform a power reset on your printer by unplugging it from the power source and waiting for at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in. Restart the printer and check if the error message persists.

5. Update Printer Firmware:

Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download/install any available firmware updates. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues with cartridges.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Chels100,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you want to change the default printing behavior on your computer so that documents automatically print without requiring you to manually select the print option each time. Here's how you can do it in different operating systems:

Windows:

  1. Open Control Panel: Press the Windows key, type "Control Panel", and press Enter.
  2. Select Devices and Printers: Click on "Devices and Printers".
  3. Set Default Printer: Right-click on your printer and select "Set as default printer".
  4. Printer Properties: Right-click on your printer again and select "Printer properties".
  5. Disable Print Confirmation: Look for an option like "Print immediately" or "Print directly to printer" in the settings. Check this option if available.
  6. Apply Changes: Click "Apply" or "OK" to save your changes.

macOS:

  1. Open System Preferences: Click on the Apple menu, select "System Preferences".
  2. Select Printers & Scanners: Click on "Printers & Scanners".
  3. Set Default Printer: Select your printer from the list and make sure the "Default printer" option is checked.
  4. Disable Print Confirmation: Click on your printer in the list, then click on the "Options & Supplies" or "Utility" button. Look for an option like "Print immediately" or "Print directly to printer" and check this option if available.
  5. Apply Changes: Close the settings window to save your changes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @hjalmargomez,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering the error message "The following print cartridges are not intended for use in this printer" on your HP 2529 printer, even after installing a new original HP black cartridge, there are a few potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the cartridge you're using is compatible with your HP 2529 printer model. HP printers often have specific cartridge models that are compatible with particular printer models. Verify that you've purchased the correct cartridge for your printer.

Inspect Cartridge Installation: Make sure the cartridge is properly installed in the printer. Open the printer cover and ensure that the cartridge is securely inserted into its respective slot. Check for any obstructions or issues with the cartridge contacts.

Clean Cartridge Contacts: If the cartridge contacts are dirty or contaminated, it can cause communication issues with the printer. Turn off the printer and carefully clean the contacts on both the cartridge and the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. Allow them to dry completely before reinstalling the cartridge.

Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP 2529 printer. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve printer performance. Visit the HP support website to download and install any available updates for your printer model.

Reset Printer: Perform a power reset on your printer by unplugging the power cord from the back of the printer while it is still turned on. Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer. This can sometimes resolve temporary communication or configuration issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Re: Control panel Blinking

Hi @RikkiKay,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the firmware upgrade might not have been successful or may have caused some issues with your printer's control panel.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the blinking control panel issue:

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. Turn on the printer and check if the control panel still blinks.
  • Reset the Printer: Sometimes resetting the printer to its default settings can resolve software-related issues. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. This will usually involve pressing a combination of buttons on the printer's control panel.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: If the blinking started after accepting a firmware upgrade, it's possible that the upgrade wasn't successful or compatible with your printer. Check the HP website for any new firmware updates specifically addressing this issue. If available, download and install the firmware update following the HP instructions carefully. HI GUYS , Ii am finding hard to print PDFS AND PPTS properly with my printer [HP DESKjet4155e. can some one help me .

Whether we can offer a solution depends on what you mean by "properly".

For example,

Regardless of an ADF having been added to this model, this printer is essentially a DeskJet.

As such, it is subject to the margin restrictions described below.

If the odd margin limitations does not explain what you are experiencing, perhaps tell us a bit more detail.

======================================================

Most DeskJet printers are incapable of borderless printing.

In addition, DeskJet printers typically require a larger bottom margin (1/2 inch or 12.7mm).

Borderless PrintingNo
Print Margin Bottom (A4)12.7 mm
Print Margin Left (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Right (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Top (A4)3 mm

There is no software, firmware, or alignment that changes the larger margin requirement.

The solution to "chopped off" is to keep all data inside of 1/2 inch / 12.7mm on the bottom edge.

This limitation includes all text, images, page numbers, footer information, cells, tables, lines, other notations, and all file types, too.

For example,

Create your original document with 1/2 inch margins.

When the document is Exported to PDF and printed, it has less chance of balking or being chopped.

Use "Fit", "Shrink to Fit", or similar to force the PDF content inside of the allowed margins.

Centering the content depends on the app / software, the margins, and the shape of the photo as compared to the shape of the paper (Aspect Ratio).

Hi @Simkins4,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are encountering a blue screen error (often referred to as the Blue Screen of Death or BSOD) with the code "001B5D09" on an HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer suggests a severe system issue.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot:

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates to fix known issues or bugs. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Check Printer Connections: Make sure all cables connected to the printer are secure. Loose connections can sometimes cause unexpected errors.
  • Factory Reset: If the problem persists, you may need to perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to do this. Keep in mind that a factory reset will erase any customized settings, so you may need to set up the printer again afterward.
