@EhmkeMelissa, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Envy Photo 7855!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer is stuck on a blue bar and does not progress to the Home screen, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the Power button.
  2. Unplug the printer's power cord from the electrical outlet and disconnect any other cables.
  3. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the printer's power cord back into the electrical outlet and reconnect any other cables.
  5. Turn on the printer using the Power button.

Check for Obstructions

  1. Verify that there are no paper jams or obstructions within the printer.
  2. Open the input trays and inspect for any misaligned trays or stuck paper.

Update Firmware Using USB Flash Drive

If the printer still does not start up, you might need to update the firmware using a USB flash drive. Here's how:

Determine the Installed Firmware Version:

  • From the Home screen on the printer control panel, scroll to and touch the Support Tools button.
  • Open the following menus: Maintenance -> Reports.
  • Touch the System Information item to find the firmware version.

Prepare the USB Flash Drive:

  • Download the firmware update file (.FUL2) from the HP website and copy it to a portable USB flash drive.
  • Ensure there is only one .FUL2 file on the USB flash drive.

Update Firmware Using USB Flash Drive:

  • Turn on the printer and wait until the Home screen is displayed on the control panel.
  • Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the printer.
  • The Memory Device Options screen appears on the control-panel display.
  • Touch "Update Now" on the display.
  • The printer will automatically download the firmware file and initiate the update process.
  • The printer will restart with normal initialization and the Home screen should appear.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
