Hi @Illo58
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The "printhead problem" with event code 62.80.02 on your HP OfficeJet 8012 indicates an issue with the printhead or its connection.
Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can clear temporary glitches.
2. Clean the Printhead Contacts
- Open the cartridge access door and remove the cartridges.
- Lift the latch holding the printhead and carefully remove the printhead.
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean the gold-colored contacts on the printhead and inside the printer.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely, then reinstall the printhead and cartridges.
3. Update Printer Firmware
- Visit the HP Support website to check for firmware updates for your printer. Updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues and improve performance.
4. Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the printer, hold the power button for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn it on and check if the error clears.
