HP OFFICEJET 6500 ERROR MESSAGE SAYS PRINTHEAD DAMAGED, MISSING, OR NOT SET IN CORRECTLY.
I cleaned the printhead about 6 times according to the instructions at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01661383&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=3795314&tmp_track_link=ot_search.
I attempted to do a diagnostics test according to the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN2ukCyW1B0 but it would let me get past the "print mech button tap" I tried code 41 and 43 and after I entered them it just went back to "print mech button tap" and wouldn't let me go further.
I reset the printer using the soft reset, hard reset, and partial reset methods, as shown in the video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31TbWMrTaFk.
Everything I have done has not worked so far in removing the error message saying that the printhead is missing or damaged. The only other thing I am thinking about trying as a last resort is the hot water printhead flush but i would like to know if there are any other suggestions out there!
Please help! I cant afford to buy a new printhead or call HP customer support right now since they charge for service calls and my printer is not under warranty.
