Have you tried using a different usb port on the computer and see if the computer sees the printer and tries to automatically load the printer.

What happens if you only have the power cable connected to the printer. No network or usb. If you turn on the printer, does it come to ready and can you print reports. If you can, then you have a bad print job on one of your computers that is trying to print and causing the error. Check the printq on all computers and delete any jobs pending. If you get the error with only power going to the printer, then I would think your formatter has issues and needs to be replaced.

If you can make a copy then the printer portion is working. You must be having communication or driver issues. I would remove the printer from the computer, turn both the computer off and the printer off. Turn them both on and see if you can load the software again for the prnter.

Windows 8.1 Printer offline issue - HP8610
We had a power outage last week and ever since I cannot get my printer to work. It keeps telling me I am offline. I followed some of the advice under this subject but nothing works. I am ready to throw in the towel and the printer out the window! It all along had a problem going offline if I don't use it for an hour or so, but usually by just turning it off and then back on it worked. Not this time. Please can someone help? It can't be that hard, can it?

Thanks for your help. It doesn't show out of paper, the paper feeds and the display shows printing...but it never prints. Paper feeds half way and stops.

Print quality on photo stock paper
Just set up the printer today and tried to print onto a HP photo paper stock 170 gsm with unacceptable results.
Experiencing the following problems:
- Settings for Media & Quality are configured appropriately however the print result is always very grainy.
- Default settings for paper continually stay on Punched Paper
- Some prints go through very quick as if in plain paper mode - poor output
- Some print go through a bit slower with the same poor result
- Definative banding through every print which seem to be coming off the lower roller wheels. It appears that the wheels are leaving a mark as the paper come through and the ink is still wet. Also smudging is occuring
- In the product manual, there are processes for the manual feed (side tray) and depending on the gsm and paper type, mdeia should be placed face up or face down - poor results continue
- Changing the settings for photopaper in the HP Utility doesn't appear to be making any difference to the printing process
- Terminology in the HP utility, standard print set up menu and the LED printer screen all differ
In the ned had to revert back to a 6 year old Canon Pixma printer to provide a decent colour print on photo stock paper.
Very frustrated and disappointed with my purchase.
Can someone please offer some advice.

Deskjet Ink Advantage 4640 starts booting when plugged, then shuts down and doesn't turn on again.
I've been less than three hours with it, completed correctly the instalation, synchronized it with my PC and Wi-Fi, even printed out a test succesfully. When I tried to move it from one location to another, it asked me to restart it, and so I did. When I tried to turn it on again, it just kept loading, made a mechanical sound, then turned off, unable to be turned on. The former repeats each time I plug the printer to the electrical outlet. It loads, makes the mechanical sound, and then shuts down, unable to turn on again.

Just found out this LaserJet Pro MFP M4777fnw does not print Word documents, only PDF format. Will drop HP Support a line of this detail so the next time they'll know the answer.

8610 stopped printing; cancels instead
When a job is sent to the printer, instead of seeing "printing" on the screen I see "cancelled printing" , and it prints nothing.
I did the Dr. thing, and the test page prints ok. But nothing will print from Excel or Quickbooks or Word.
It printed an hour before this new problem. I can not say it was fine as it is one that doesn't always get the message to print, but if I remove the power and then plug it in again it will print .

Please try the below mentioned steps that should resolve the issue.
- go to DEVICES AND PRINTER.
- Right click on the printer icon ( 8600 ), then click on "Printer Properties"
- Click on Configure Port button, a Window will be displayed titled "Configure Standard TCP/IP Port Monitor"
- Uncheck the "SNMP Status Enabled"
- Click OK, then APPLY, then OK.
- Restart the PC.
Now try printing, it should work.

Printing Photos after Windows 10 Upgrade
I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Premier Printer. After upgrading to Windows 10, I am having trouble with printer quality of photos. Any photos I print have either verticle/horizontal thin black lines approx. every inch printing on every photo. I have tried changing the paper source (HP advanced photo, other photo, cardstock, etc.) but nothing seems to work. I only have this issue when printing photos, regardless of what type of paper I print them on.
I printed a photo from my iPad to the same printer and this did not happen. It only happens with photos downloaded onto my desktop (which has Windows 10). I called HP support and they told me I had to reset my computer to factor settings. I have so much info on my computer that doing that would require my taking everything off my desktop. I do have important things backed up but do not want to wipe my computer clean if it is not necessary. HELP!!!! Thank you in advance for any assistance anyone can give me.

printer wont print but shows connection
so i recently purchased a new hp envy 4500 hooked everything up and did the latest driver install. the computer shows that it is connected but i cant get anything to actually print. it will send it to the print spool complete and clear like it printed but nothing happens. ive tried doing a wifi connection to my android phone as well without any luck finding it. as well as wifi direct. it will connect to the printer but when i try to add the printer to print a picture it wont find it even though it is directly connected to the printer. ive tried the windows 10 troubleshooter and it shows that nothing is wrong as well as try to print test pages without anything actually printing. im at a loss as to why nothing will print. its treating it like everythings working properly without actually getting the physical printer to print. the printer did print its initial alignment page and will print things directly from the printer fine. and the printer cable i have used to connect to pc works fine with my previous printer so i know thats not bad.
