Does this also happen while copying?

 

The printhead could be clogged, and you might need to clean the printhead several times to restore print quality. Use the automated tool from the printer control panel to clean the printhead.

   CAUTION: 

Never turn off the printer when ink cartridges are not installed. To avoid issues that require cleaning the printhead or that can damage the ink system, always replace ink cartridges as soon as possible, and always turn off the printer using the Power button.

  1. On the printer control panel, press Setup.

  2. Press the down arrow button  to select Tools, and then press OK.

  3. Press the down arrow button  to select Clean Printhead, and then press OK.

    • If the print quality is unacceptable, perform another printhead cleaning.

      NOTE: 

      If the printhead is badly clogged, wait 30 minutes, and then clean the printhead again.

  4. Try to print again.

HP Desk Jet 3630 suddenly won't recognize ink cartridge.

My HP Desk Jet 3630  suddenly thinks my black ink HP cartridge #63 is incompatible. It is a fairly new cartridge and it did work fine for a number of days.  I tried rebooting the printer  and I reinserted the cartridge.....no luck .  It isn't flagging the coloured cartridge, but it still won't print.  

Does anyone have any ideas?

My printer sometimes prints the alignment page, but usually not.  When I 1st got the printer, the instructions seem to say that every time before I print something, I should scan the alignment page and print another alignment page.  It never seemed to do anything except waste paper & ink.  Immediately before my post here I had replaced an ink cartridge and got a couple of alignment pages auto-printed.  This alignment page printing seems to be random, but always(?) if it prints, it's the 1st thing after turning on printer.  It actually is so infrequent (for me) that I had forgotten about it until this most recent episode.  Since then no more have been auto-printed.  My printer almost always works the way a printer IMHO should work . . . it prints what I want to print, when I want to print and sits idle at other times.

 

My question in this thread was . . . what is the purpose of "alignment"?  What is being aligned?  print heads?  ink cartridges?  paper feed?  I've never had to align a printer before.  But then, this is my 1st HP printer.

 

I assume the printer driver updates that have been mentioned are in cases of operating system changes (or completely new OS).  I'm running Windows 10.

I agree. I have the same problem. The HP Support Assistant notified me that I need to update the firmware. I have only had the printer since Christmas. It seems that the update (1925A) is older than the version showing on my printer status (1931B). A simple fix really for HP, but instead this support page refers you to another support group. What???

Hello, I'm doing all your step about this beeping problem for ink tank 115. But the printer won't stop beeping. I don't know why is still beeping. I'm doing the scanning using your application  hp scan doctor but there is no problem detected in my printer. 

Do you know what should i do then?

Thanks.  I just wish HP would be honest on this one... they clearly have a generic issue and try to fob customers off with a manufacturing reset which doesn't work.  I'm just living with the issue at the moment, but thinking of scrapping this printer and getting another once the free ink period is over.  I did think of returning the printer, but that's more hassle and trying to arrange a physical service is met by an impossible bot that sends you around in circles.

Hi,

The driver for the HP Officejet 4500 printer (G510g does support ethernet connectivity too.

If you only see USB connectivity in the software, that means you use an incorrect driver, intended for the HP Officejet 4500 Deskjet (G510a) model.

 

Please uninstall any currently installed HP Software from the Control Panel first, then download and install your latest Windows 10 printer software below:

Hi No the local account just does exactly the same it hasn't worked,

I've now tried everything and its really frustrating as I can print in colour from my phone, IPAD,, or from a test page,

I am paying monthly for HP instant ink, and will have to cancel  my contract as the printer does not work Please advise

NO CHANGE,

STILL STUCK AT THE SAME POINT. SHOWING THE VIDEO OF HOW TO INSTALL THE PRINTER CARTIDGES. 

EVERYTHING IS INSTALLED AND MENU DOES NOT MOVE ON TO FURTHER CONFIGURATION.

NO BUTTON ENABLED EXCEPT THE REPRODUCTION OF THE PRINTER CARTRIDGE INSTALLATION VIDEO. 

 

I CANT EVEN CONNECT THE PRINTER TO THE WIFI.

ANY FURTHER ADVICE?

Hi

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the printer connectivity issues.

  • How far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
  • Make sure the printer and the MAC are connected to the same wireless network.
  • This printer supports only 2.4GHz network. So, the MAC should be on the 2.4GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.
  • Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'.
  • The wireless status menu on your Mac should also give us quite a lot of information that would help us identify the issue. You can press and hold the option key on your keyboard and click the WiFi icon to get detailed information.

To check the connectivity between the printer and the MAC, perform a PING test

  1. Obtain the IP address of the printer by clicking on the Wireless icon on the printer
  2. On the MAC Go to Spotlight > search for Network utility > select Ping tab > enter the IP address of the printer in the box
  3. Check the second box that says Send only > 10 pings
  4. Click on ping > Check the results at the end if any packets are lost
  5. Note: There should be 0% packet loss, share the results in your next post.

Thank you!

I was actually able to remove the Web Services via the webpage for the printer.

Then reboot the printer and then enable the Web Services via the portal again.

The key is to be sure you get the confirmation page so you can reset and add your printer back to the site.

I was able to configure an email address to send document to the printer via email and also to scan to email (the original isse).

All is working!!

Dear Sandy,

Thank you for the suggestions.  Unfortunately both items did not work.  Unplugging power cord from rear; waiting 30 seconds; then plugging in to wall outlet (which I always have plugged into wall outlet directly).  Also, my printer firmware is up to date.

I tried copying a one page document and it does the same thing.  It spits out two blank pages first; and then it takes forever just to copy a one page.

Hi, i have a problem with my printer.

The printer do no t recognize the back cartidge. My printer mount HP62 cartdige series.

I tried ro reset the printer, to update the firmware, changed the cartidge clean the electrical pin of the cartidge and of the printer, but nothing changed.

From the TAP 41 menu i have this error:

Current Error: Pen in right chute has error (55)

Previus Error: Pen in right chute has error (6)

 

My printer is out of warranty and i'm outside US.

 

How can i fix this problem? Is there a solution to this problem or i must throw the printer out the window and pass a bulldozer over it?

Thank you for trying to solve my problem.

 

I have tried support but because my printer is out of warranty the only option they give me is to pay for someone to talk to. Got to admit its not the support I expected. I'm just going to use this printer till the cartridges run out then throw it as far as I can and get another model!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

Is the paper tray jammed? Look for any obstructions or damaged/broken plastic parts.

 

To know how to load papers into the printer, refer to this document. This printer has 2 trays, once is the Main tray and the other is the photo tray. You cannot use the photo tray to print on US letter-size sheets.

 

To clear any jams inside the printer, perform the steps provided in this document. If there are no jams and the paper is not being picked, refer to the steps mentioned in this document.
