Re: HP7500A does NOT print to A3
Hey
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with resolving the printing issue that you're experiencing when trying to print the A3 paper size from your Windows 8.1 computer to your HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer. Your printer definitely supports the A3 paper size, so the fact that is doesn't appear in the Paper Size dropdown options may be a driver conflict between your printer and computer. With that being said, below I will walk you through the steps of manually creating the A3 paper size to resolve this paper size printing issue. Please follow the steps below.
1. Open your Startscreen by clicking the Windows icon on the bottom left of your computer screen or by selecting the Windows key on the bottom left of your keyboard, to the right of the Ctrl button
2. Under the Start screen type Devices and Printers. Click Devices and Printers to launch the window.
3. Under Devices and Printers, click on your HP Officejet once just to highlight it. Next, click Print Server Properties at the top of the window.
4. Under Print Server Properties, make sure you're under the Formstab. Next, click Create a New Form.
Note: If you see an option on the bottom left for Change Form Settings, click on this first. Next, click Create a New Form.
5. Create the Form Name. This is what you want your paper size to be called. A3 may be a good choice.
6. Next, choose Englishas the Units. Enter Width and Height for paper size:
Note: For A3, Width will be 11.7 and Height will be 16.5
7. On top right click Save Form. The A3 paper size (Form) will now appear in the 'Forms On' list. Click Close.
8. CloseDevices and Printers
9. Open the document that you want to print. Click on Fileand Print. In the Print dialogue box click Properties or Preferences (varies from program to program) and select the Paper Size name that you just created.
10. Click Print.
Please respond to this post with the result of manually creating the A3 paper size. If you feel that the steps I've provided resolved your paper size issue please mark this post as a Solution so other users of the HP Support Forums can easily find these steps. Good luck!

Windows might have a driver built in, but I'd recommend downloading the driver from hp.com.

Printer not printing black
My HP 6510 will not print black. I have cleaned the head a number of times, did the alignment and put new cartridges in. The colored works but not the black. We are in the USA

HP Printing Margins
I`m trying to print a document off of Word 2013 with the margins set at 0.2cm. It shows on the program the margin changing, the text moves up, I press OK. It stays. I print - and the text still starts 2.0cm down the page and if you try to set the margin lower on Word it cuts the text off when printing at the same 2cm point.
I`ve looked on my printer settings - its on letter (8.5x11); which i`m using. My boss has the same printer, i emailed him the document, he prints it off just fine. The Word document settings are fine, my printer has some sort of page border i can`t take off. Help please!
Re: color printer
Evening
I see you are experiencing a print quality issue and I want to see if this helps.
Have you tried the steps for Fixing Print Quality Problems?
Are you using genuine HP ink cartridges?HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP ink cartridges or refilled HP ink cartridges. If you do not use genuine HP ink cartridges, the steps in this post might not resolve the issue you experiencing. You could also see how non-HP supplies compare to refilled or remanufactured cartridges from the Buyers Lab Report.
I would also suggest reviewing the Limited Warranty for HP Ink Cartridges and Customer-Replaceable Printheads for HP Inkjet Supplies.
Please let me know if any of these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.
Thanks,
Re: vertical streaking on 8500 all in one
HI
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're unable to copy with ADF without it producing lines on your HP Officejet 8500 Printer. I would be happy to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue.
In order to assist you better, I may require more information.
What is the full name and product number of your printer? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
I would try the steps within this guide, HP Officejet Flatbed Scanner All-in-Ones With ADFs - Vertical Bands, Lines, or Streaks in Copies, Faxes, or Scans.
- Several clean, soft, lint-free cloths
- Mild glass cleaner
CAUTION: Use only glass cleaner to clean the scanner glass. Do not use cleaners that contain abrasives, acetone, benzene, or carbon tetrachloride. These substances can damage the product. Avoid isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) because it can leave streaks on the glass.
- Press the Power button (
) to turn off the product, and disconnect the power cord from the product.
- Open the scanner lid.Figure : Open the scanner lid
- Spray a clean, soft, lint-free cloth with mild glass cleaner.
CAUTION: Do not spray the glass cleaner directly on the glass to avoid damaging the scanner.
- Wipe the scanner glass and the white underside of the scanner lid with the dampened cloth.Figure : Clean the scanner glassFigure : Clean the scanner lid
- Dry the scanner glass thoroughly with a clean, dry cloth, or chamois to prevent spotting, and then dry the white underside of the scanner lid.
NOTE: Do not use paper-based wipes or tissues that can leave fiber residue.
- Close the scanner lid.
- If the product is not already off, press the Power button (
) to turn off the product, and disconnect the power cord from the product.
- Remove all originals from the document feeder tray.
- Open the ADF cover.Figure : Open the ADF cover
- Lightly dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth with distilled water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.
- Use the damp cloth to wipe any residue off the rollers and separator pad.Figure : ADF parts

NOTE: If the residue does not come off using distilled water, try using isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.
- Close the ADF cover.
- If the product is not already off, press the Power button (
) to turn off the product, and disconnect the power cord from the product.
- Remove any originals from the document feeder tray.
- Open the scanner lid.Figure : Open the scanner lid
- Open the ADF cover, and lift the ADF mechanism.Figure : Open the ADF coverFigure : Lift the ADF mechanism
- Lightly dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth with a mild glass cleaner.
- Gently clean the glass strip inside the ADF, and then thoroughly dry it to prevent spotting.Figure : Glass strip in the ADF (example 1)Figure : Glass strip in the ADF (example 2)
- Lower the ADF mechanism, and close the ADF cover.
- Close the scanner lid, reconnect the power cord to the product, and then press the Power button (
) to turn on the product.
- Remove any originals from the scanner glass.
- Load plain white paper in the input tray.
- Press Start Copy Black to make a blank copy.
- If the copy is clean, there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
- If the copy has vertical bands, lines, or streaks, there might be dust inside the product, poor internal connections, or the product might be damaged. See the next solution.
If you have a 8500A Series Printer.
Clean the glass strip next to the scanner glass with the lint-free cloth.
I recommend performing this cleaning multiple times to resolve the issue. Anything on the glass or rollers can cause this issue.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Luck!
Re: m177fw and big problems wit Win8.1 (and not only)
Good morning, thank you for help!
I tested what you asked, here are my answers:
1) I used scan doctor already, it said it fixed TCP port but same error on print, it didn't help at all.
2) During install no errors, never, neither with HP universla PCL 5 and 6 driver, in all the configurations I used it (see above). The problem appears when printing from excell and other appications.
3) Yes PC is constantly update (often when reboot it displaying update prcedures.
4) I tested disabling antivirus (Avira free) and nothing changed
5) What is "nonessential software" I rebooted pc and without any application running background. Are you suggesting me to interrupt services? You probably better focusing to fix the compatibility with driver instead of asking to stop services (too much)
6) Administrator account not present, I created one with admin rights but nothing changed
I attach screenshots of error, of the two drivers of printer installed (why two? Driver installed it itself), the Universal PCL driver displays the level of toner (so it connects to printer) but when print (no errors here from Excell) the queue of printing goes empty after some seconds but the printer doesn't nothing. After displaying level of toner it display an issue with a yellow sign with esclamation point !

7) Please don't forget other issues, I report it here:
consider also that the printer is unable to retrieve "apps" from internet when she tried to connect (all the network configuration is set properly, as well as gateway and DNS), it stucks with "loading" for hours, without returning any error code, that's very strange. Also I can't access the eprint services (probably for the same reason) when I access into its internal web site.
When "apps" is opened and trying to connect to internet the printer produces amazing no-stop traffic through LAN port (it blinks fast and always), it may reduce performance of internet
This printer is equal to hell, it doesn't work good and have many issues. You should consider to solve the problems rewriting firmware.

Printer will not print from internent and will print a word document
I do not get an error message. It just dont print.
