The network path is how the printer finds the location you want to save the file to:
typical format would be:
\\computername\sharename
where: computername is the name of the workstation you want to save the file to
and sharename is the name you gave the shared folder when you set it up.
In some cases you may need to use the IP address of the computer instead of the computername.
I have a MacBook Air 13 inch 2017 SO MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 and I would like to install an HP Deskjet 5150 printer but when I try to install the driver it gives me the error You cant`t open the application `HP HP Inkjet Installer` because it is not supported on this type of Mac

Unfortunatelly this doesn't fix the problem.
For your information, the driver is correctly installed and I can use the printer normaly.
I cant use the scanner through the "HP solution center" application :
I also tryde the "HP print and scan doctor" utility. It seems that the setup cant write the config into the registry.
Any idea ?

This is half a solution. When I make a copy from the printer using the Copy and Black buttons, the output tray comes out. However, when I print from the computer, as opposed to copy from the printer, the output tray does not extend.
Of course, I have saved the settings and they work when using the pc scanner application but are not listed on the display on the front of the printer
I have two problems with my OfficeJet Pro 6960. First when I try to print a page from MicroSoft Edge - I select print after right click on the mouse. The print command page appears and the shuts down the browser - same with Chrome and Opera.
Second: Printing a normal Office Document: On print command page when I select print - an error message in red appears 'something has gone wrong' After several attempt by cancelling and reselecting print I do manage to print the document.
The printer worked satisfactorily until now - the warranty expired on 2nd Oct (last week) and suddenly this issue has come up.

I have an issue with my HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One-printer. It prints every color, except black. I'm using original HP ink, and I've tried changing the ink multiple times. The printer prints all other colours than black, and I don't know how to figure out why it doesn't print black.
Does anyone else have the same problem, or know what I can do in order to fix it?

My printer doesn’t seem to print black ink. I tried running the advanced cleaning program, yet it still isn’t working. Any suggestions?
I have an error message and both printer cartridge lights are flashing. The black ink cartridge is new and I am reluctant to replace the coloor cartridge if the printer has reached the end. The manual says to contact HP at this point.
1- Locate a spotless eyeglass wipes or that you can use to clean the ink cartridge contacts.
2- Softly hose a perfect build up free material with packaged
3- Delicately wipe the Copper-shaded contact with ink cartridge
4- Wipe the contact with a dry ,build up free material
5- Trust that the ink cartridge will dry before your proceed (around 10 minutes)
6- Reinsert the ink cartridge into its opening and afterword drive the ink cartridge forward until the point that it fits properly
7- Rehash these means for the majority of the ink cartridges.
8- Close the ink cartridge gets to the enter way
9- Check the control board to check whether the blunder message perseveres
Dear Kumar, thank you for the hint. The problem is that I have the HP 300 cartridges - bought in Poland. But they are not accepted by my HP Envy 110 all in one D411b that was bought in Russia. My printer says that these are wrong cartridges. It wants only HP 121, but they are not available in Poland.
Contrary to instructions, I find that #10 envelope printing requires my envelope to be positioned with the flap on the right, not left, in order to be printed correctly. Not a problem, but differs from the guide.

When hitting'Print' command from File on Word Documents pop-up states cannot print due to problem with printer setup.
Not had this problem before printer is 3 years old. Troubleshooter cannot find any issues and if I send a print command from my IPad it will print Word Docs !
I have this printer that has always worked well,
I did a semi reset on it and now it wants the setup cartridges in it, however I used and threw these away when it was new!
how do I override it as I really just want to use the printer!

Printer has suddenly stopped printing (including diagnostic pages), coming up with a paper mismatch error. I've loaded A4, gone into settings both in the printer and application and checked settings are OK. I have checked inside the printer for debris, reset the printer (removing the power cord for 60 secs), checked driver and firmware which are all up to date. I have checked the default settings in the browser and on the printer itself and ran through the suggestions on the HP Support video. It's almost like the sensor can't pick up what size the paper is. Is there a way to check the sensor is working?
ok I'm told it's because I'm using the apple printer driver.
If i install the HP driver I should be able to disable colour management.
However,I can get the hp driver to install. HP Easy Start gives an error when attempting to install the driver.
I'm trying to install the HP printer driver using Easy Start.
Scanner driver installs ok, but when it tries to install the printer driver it fails with an error.
Any suggestions?

I do in fact know to have up to date software/firmware before I go asking for help. I am also familiar with printing setup and preferences. This printer refuses to accept the setup.
We started getting an issue last week with staff trying to print from word and excel and getting the error message "Word can't print due to a problems with the printer setup. One work around I've found is to go into the printer properties when you click print and change the paper type from unspecified to Plain. I'm just confused why this has happened as everything was fine till last week. Also only seems to be affecting office 8720 and pagewidth 477DW, our officejet 8720 doesn't appear to have the same issue. Paper is set to plain on both printers.
Any ideas would be really appreciated.
