You can't override, information about expiration date is stored on an integrated circuit (chip) on each cartridge. You can probably look for aftermarket chips with a newer date.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  1. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  2. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  6. NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Clean the electrical contacts :

  1. Gather the following materials:

    • Dry foam-rubber swabs or lint-free cloth (eyeglass wipes or coffee filters work well)

    • Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water might contain contaminants that can damage the ink cartridges)

         CAUTION:

Do not use platen cleaners or alcohol to clean the ink cartridge contacts. These can damage the ink cartridge or the printer.

  2. Open the ink cartridge access door.

Figure : Opening the ink cartridge access door

Image: Open the ink cartridge access door
  3. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  4. Disconnect the power cord and any Ethernet or USB cables.

  5. Lightly press down on the ink cartridge to release it, and then pull the ink cartridge out of its slot.

Figure : Removing the ink cartridge

Pressing down to remove the ink cartridge
       CAUTION:

Do not remove both ink cartridges at the same time. Remove and then clean each ink cartridge one at a time. Do not leave an ink cartridge outside the printer for more than 30 minutes.

  6. Hold the ink cartridge by its sides.

Figure : Holding the ink cartridge by its sides

Holding the ink cartridge by its sides.
  7. Dip a clean foam-rubber swab or lint-free cloth into distilled water, and then squeeze any excess water from it.

  8. Clean only the copper-colored contacts, and then allow the ink cartridge to dry for approximately 10 minutes.

  9. Lightly moisten another foam-rubber swab or lint-free cloth with distilled water, and then squeeze any excess water from the swab or cloth.

  10. Use the swab or cloth to clean the electrical contacts in the carriage, located inside the printer.

    Figure : The carriage contacts

  11. Either let the ink cartridge sit for 10 minutes to allow the cleaned area to dry, or use a new swab or cloth to dry it.

    NOTE:

Make sure the ink cartridge is not left out of the printer for more than 30 minutes.

  12. Hold the ink cartridge by its sides with the contacts toward the printer, insert the ink cartridge into its slot, and then gently push the ink cartridge until it snaps into place.

Figure : Inserting the ink cartridge

Snapping the ink cartridge into place
  13. Repeat these steps to clean and reinsert the other ink cartridge.

  14. Close the ink cartridge access door.

  15. Reconnect the power cord and any Ethernet or USB cables, unless your printer is connected to a wireless network.

  16. Turn on the printer, if it does not turn on automatically.

If you have no menu on your printer, look for Settings (the gear icon) or the word "Settings" on the display screen.  Inside of Settings, look for Network.  Somewhere in the network menu you should have an option to reset the security.  Resetting the security settings is what worked for my HP printer (a different model than yours) with my Mac.

Welcome to the HP Support Community

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Are you facing any issue while making a copy?

If you facing the same issue while making a copy use this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8620-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5367611/document/c04113501

If the copy is working fine.

Try changing the print settings

Use this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8620-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5367611/document/c02227495 which will help in changing the print setting.

Run HP Print Scan and Doctor to fix Driver issue.

Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/topic/printscandoctor For using HP Print and Scan Doctor.

If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

Remove the USB if connected

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-8620-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5367611/swItemId/bi-124140-4 to download and install the HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Does the same happen while copying? Are you able to print photos in color properly?

Select a higher print quality setting

  1. From the program you are using to print, click File, and then click Print. The Print dialog box opens.

  2. Make sure the correct product is listed in the Name: drop-down list.

  3. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. This name of this button varies depending on the software, and can be called any of the following:

    • Properties

    • Options

    • Printer Setup

    • Printer

    • Preferences

  4. Click the Features tab.

  5. From the Print Quality: drop-down list, select a higher print quality setting, such as Best or Maximum dpi.

    NOTE:

The Maximum dpi setting is not available when printing on plain paper.

  6. Click OK. The Properties dialog box closes and the Print dialog box remains open. Click OK again to close it.

You may also try changing ink cartridges.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
