  5. Press the Wireless button , and then press the Selection button  next to Settings.

  6. Press the Down Arrow  to select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press OK.

The printer searches for available wireless networks.

  7. Press the Down Arrow  to select the name of your wireless network, and then press OK.

  8. Follow the instructions on the control panel to connect the printer to your wireless network.

I cannot change my printer preferences on any program - ie Word, email programs, excel, internet pages.  Theprinter shortcuts have a locked padlock on them.  When I go into the HP page I cannot open the Printing Prefences tab.

In some cases, a printer reset can clear the error message.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. Remove all the ink cartridges from the printer.
  4. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  5. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  6. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  7. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  8. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  9. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  10. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

This should do the trick.

What is the error message?  Does the printer stop printing or does it actually power off?  Are the pages (or portions of a page) that print correct?

I do not understand this and you need to explain plain English simple terms.

Q 1. In my  last billing cycle I was entitled to 15 pages.  I used 1.  I should rollver 14 pages correct or not? If not why not?

Q 2.  I then used up 15 pages in current cycle (normal plan allowed).  I was entitled to only one rollover page.  Why given previous?

I have been charged and want charge refunded and reinstatement of all my rollover pages.

Many thanks

Showing setup cartridge as incompatible cartridge

$

Dear All,

I have got a hp office jet Pro 8210 printer (US purchased) but could not install it for almost 1 year. Recently when tried to install it in India, found that Black SETUP cartridge is leaking. Cleaned the cartridge and tried to install the printer. Before the installation could have been completed, it started showing the following message is displaying on printer screen "the printer is not designed to use continuous ink system. to resume printing, remove continuous ink system and install original HP (or compatible cartridges" (showing C, M, Y) in the end." The message is not going from the screen so don't even know if the installation has been completed not.

Cartridges are 952 and are supplied with the printer, so it is difficult to doubt if cartridges are incompatible.

Any help in sorting the issue will highly be appreciated.

Is there any possibility that the printer can be installed by hp using team viewer ???

Will the cartridges purchased in India work with this printer?

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Cleaning the printhead and checking on the ink cartridge may resolve this issue, let us try these steps:

Step 1: Use an automated tool to clean the printhead

  1. Load letter, A4, or legal size, unused, plain white paper into the input tray.

  2. Press the Setup button ().

  3. Press the Down Arrow button () to highlight Tools, and then press OK.

  4. Press the Down Arrow button () to highlight Clean Printhead, and then press OK. The printer cleans the printhead, and a test page prints once the printer is done cleaning the printhead.

  5. Examine the test sheet for print quality. Consider repeating the cleaning if there is improvement. Sometimes the printer requires several cleanings.

  6. Recycle or discard the test sheet.

  7. When the cleaning process completes, press any button on the control panel to return to the Tools menu.

Step 2: Follow step 9 and 14 from this document

Performing a Semi-full reset may not help us resolve this issue. However, I will send you the reset instructions in a private message.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Let me know how this goes.
