Thanks for reaching out! It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

I understand that you are getting a print head error with your Officejet printer. I'd first suggest you try the steps listed here: http://bit.ly/2gxIkhy

Make sure to reseat the print head 3 times as suggested in the document.

If the issue persists, I'd suggest you clean the print head manually. I found a wonderful HP YouTube video with clear instructions to perform this operation. Please check here: http://hp.care/2bVf9iT

The video is made on a different machine, but the steps are the same.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Thank you and have a great day.

Hi NormCW,

Can you provide the error message for better clarity?

You mentinoed you installed new printheads and they only work for a short time. Did you recevied message on Genuine HP printheard installed?

Are you using the same ink cartidge or new ink cartidge? Can you verify if your ink cartidge is still under warranty?

More details will be helpful in troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks

Hi BeechBaron,

Firstly, thank you for choosing HP!

The printer is designed to auto delete for you. However, there are a few cases in which it will not delete the fax.

You mention that  your faxes are printed and also forwarded to your email. If the printer has been set up to print and archive to email, the faxes are NOT deleted until both of those operations have completed successfully. It will be saved to memory until such time that it can be printed and sent to email.

To help diagnose the issue further, could you tell me whether the printer is connected to the internet and if it shows any errors on your return(either Out of Ink or other printer errors) ?

Thanks!

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Hello re4,

I don't think you can purchase any motor for your printer, as I know to rework or dismantle that printer was not easy; did you try to sent in this printer to HP serivce center to check what happen to this printer?  Paper feeb problem could be due to mech alignement or others root cause as well.

Kind Regards,

Hi,

Can you please describe the problem that you are facing will connecting to wireless? does it give you any kind of error ?

i have rarely seen the wireless radio fail, you can print a wireless config page and check the report, this report will exactly tell you what the problem is...but i believe it should be a S/W issue and not hardware problem.

Hope this helps.

Hi Gunandokc,

HP recommend the use of Genuine HP ink cartidges for best performance and quality.

Can you insert a Genuince HP ink cartidges into your printer and see if the error persist? If it goes away, it may means the non-HP ink cartidge is faulty.

Thanks

There is a Firmware Update that can fix this problem. Its available through HP Tech Support only. You may have to call HP Tech Support at your region. When you interact with Support Agent, ask him to update the printer firmware.

Hi Marilyn Kano ,

The Error code that you see indicates that the printer firmware is unable to boot. Did you see this error after updating the printer firmware?

Please let us know the your printer model so that we can possibly guide you on how to recover the unit.

Re: How can I use my OfficeJet Pro 7740 to print A3, or scan, from Linux

Hi there!

If you are trying to print or to select scan from your desktop, be sure to install the latest software
"HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One series Full Feature Software and Drivers" from this website

Another thing to note, whenever you load a paper into the tray, be sure to select the right type of media in the control panel before proceeding.

As for the scanning option, if you are doing a copy function, please check that the right paper media size is selected correctly, then make sure that you scroll down and check that the options are properly selected before you hit the copy button. You can choose the option of fit to page, or actual size copy inside the resize options.

If all else fails, please check that that there are no other obvious dirt or particles  on the scanner glass or on the foam white backing of the scanner lid before scanning.

If there are any further questions, please describe in detail what function you are doing? Will that be a scan to PC, scan to thumbdrive, or copy function?

Regards,
Samuel

Hi,

How old is the printer? There are no new printers that accept this cartridges..

Have you tried any kind of T/S to resolve the printhead failure error msg?

here are 2 docs that will help you with a few T/S steps
