Officejet 5745 won't print. Carriage jam. I clear the jam and followed the instructions. Keeps doing the same thing.

Hi , please try the following steps and see if it works:

1. Remove any objects, such as paper, that are blocking the print carriage. NOTE: Do not use any tools or other devices to remove jammed paper. Always use caution when removing jammed paper from inside the printer

2. To get help from the print display, touch Help from the Home screen. Touch the directional button to navigate through help topics, touch Troubleshoot and Support, and then touch Clear Carriage Jam.

Learn how to avoid paper jams To help avoid paper jams, follow these guidelines.

● Remove printed papers from the output tray frequently.

● Make sure that you are printing with paper that is not wrinkled, folded, or damaged.

● Prevent curled or wrinkled paper by storing all unused paper Ʈat in a resealable bag.

● Do not use paper that is too thick or too thin for the printer.

● Make sure that the trays are loaded correctly and are not too full.

Thank you for your reply. I discovered the printer warranty expired three weeks ago so tried a few other settings and it’s working again.

You’re right that it is a wireless problem. I tried printing from usb and it was ok.

I just went through the printers IP address, and re-set up on home wifi. Verified that it was connected to the same connection that laptop is connected to. Going through IP website, connection status says "settings have been saved, but communication between browser and printer has been lost. Check Connection and IP address"

This seems to be a pretty common problem, based on the forum threads.

I've also followed all the instructions, installed and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows, unplugged it and waited before plugging it in again, removed and reinstalled the cartridges, tried the Virtual Agent (who gave up before I did), updated the driver software, made sure gray scale was unchecked, tried cleaning the (new) printheads ("An error has occurred. (pgDevServ-parsererror)")... All after spending $50 on new HP cartridges so I could print something in color tonight.

I've had this printer since October, 2016. Even though it's out of warranty less than 6 months, it looks like I may have to pay to talk to someone at HP and hope they can figure it out.

If that happens, I'll post a solution here.

Re: no power to printer

Hi there ,

1.  You may want to try to totally disconnect the power cord at the printer end.

Wait for 5 mins before reconnecting the cord back to the printer.  So to ensure the internal printer power reset

circuitry is able to recover if it has been been activated.

2.   If the above step 1 fails,  then very likely that the power supply is dead.  And you would need to send for repair or to get

       a unit replacement

Hope this helps.

Best Rgds

So if you want to print without using any hardware connection then you can try to print using Wifi -direct feature of the printer which doesn't uses internet connection however will print without any cable connection.

This is best way you can use your printer without having issues because same issue I faced few months back so it seems to be the router settings issue because even if you will a buy a new printer then I guess wireless condition will remain the same (as happened with me ).

Hi Shamrock28. Thanks for contacting HP forum. I would like to help you as much as i can. I have verified that your Printer HP Officejet 4650 have auto duplexing as per User manual below: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04783165.pdf From Page 16, you will see how to to set to duplex printing. I have copied here as well: Print on both sides (duplexing) To print on both sides of the page You can print on both sides of a sheet of paper automatically by using the automatic two-sided printing mechanism (duplexer). 1. From your software, select Print. 2. Make sure your printer is selected. 3. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer Properties, Printer, or Preferences. 4. Select the appropriate options. 16 Chapter 3 Print ENWW ● On the Layout tab, select Portrait or Landscape orientation, and select Flip on Long Edge or Flip on Short Edge from the Print on Both Sides drop-down list. ● On the Paper/Quality tab, select the appropriate paper type from the Media drop-down list in the Tray Selection area, and then select the appropriate print quality in the Quality Settings area. ● Click the Advanced button, in the Paper/Output area, select the appropriate paper size from the Paper Size drop-down list. NOTE: If you change the Paper Size ensure that you have loaded the correct paper and set the paper size on the printer control panel to match. 5. Click OK to print. NOTE: After one page of the document has been printed, wait for the printer to reload the paper automatically to print on the other side. You do not need to take any action. To print on both sides of the paper (OS X) 1. From the File menu in your software, choose Print. 2. In the Print dialog, choose Layout from the pop-up menu. 3. Choose the type of binding you want for your two-sided pages, and then click Pri Kindly let me know if the above is working. Thanks

I already tried printing from a word doc. still nothing. just blank pages. the ink is brand new so i'm not sure what the issue is and it did print a logo from the document i was trying to print. but that was it.

HP L7650 Black/Yellow Printhead Isses

I had had errors with the black/ yellow printhead and have since replaced the printhead twice. Each time the new printhead works butiully until it runs out of black ink. The cartridge is full, yet I am not able to get the ink to flow to the printhead. I have checked the ink supply and the line seems to have ink in it but the printhead is empty. Any suggestions?

The document I want to print is an attachment from GMAIL. It is just a word document. Even when I save it to my desktop it wont print. I'm printing wirelessly and I've never had an issue before. The ink is brand new. The printer is the HP Photosmart 6250.

Hi,

From the picture shown, it appears that the "walls" of the circular protrusions seem to be taller than those on the rectangular protrusions.  Typically, this would mean that the printer was meant the rear portion to stand on the table while the front portion has the rubber feet to act as padding of some sort to sit the printer properly.

I suggest you call up HP Customer Service to check with them the default configurations.
