Well - I figured out the problem. Just in case some printer-driver programmer monitors this board, here's source of the problem - and if you care to fix your printer driver you can. (Fat chance! I'm afraid the idea of bug free programming went the way of the OS360).
I had created a document with a 5"x7" paper size in MS Word 2010. With that document still open, I attempted to print an address label to affix to the envelope for this document. The label was on an Avery 8.5"x11" sheet. The printer was set for 8.5"x11" paper. With this situation, no matter what I did, a 3-line address only printed the first line on the label.
However - once I closed the document. Closed MS Word, then re-opened the application and attempted to print a label with no other documents open, the label printed correctly.
Another printer (e.g. Canon) do not demonstrate this anomaly - don't know whether other HP printers do, I don't have one to test.
