I ended up returning the printer & cancelling the HP "All in" subscription for that printer after the HP rep asked for my debit card info so that he could charge me a small fee for returning the defective printer even though it was defective when it was shipped to me from the warehouse AND it was going to be returned to HP with a prepaid shipping label. I hope your similar situation has a better outcome than mine.
Re: Issues with Hp 7602r new smart tank printer setup
Re: HP3830 prints on PC but not laptop
Some further tests:
C) since USB printing works (though slow), I used Print Management and checked security permissions for printer and the user has Allow :Print, manage printer, manage documents. All permissions same as other working T490 Lenovo.
D) -did an in place install of win 11 pro retaining all apps and files. Problem remains.
E) Created a VMware virtual machine of win 11 pro. HP smart software installed successfully in VM. Printing issue is the same. HP diagnose and Fix still shows Print queue error not fixed. No sure what the results of this test implies.
Re: HP 5020 stuck on startup
Thanks
Sadly two of your options are not possible.
1. As the printer won't complete startup I can't update the firmware
2. Your instructions for a hard reset involve holding down two buttons. The HP Engy 5020 doesn't have a keyboard. Is there any other way to perform a hard reset?
I have tried the other options but they have not helped.

When a print job says it's printing and finished, but nothing prints, it can be quite frustrating. Here's a detailed guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve this issue.
Resetting the Printing Environment
Sometimes, resetting the printing environment can resolve various print issues.
Delete Job Files and Restart the Print Spooler
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Search Windows for "run" and click the Run application.
- Type "services.msc" in the Run window, and press Enter.
- In the Services menu, right-click "Print Spooler" and select Stop.
- Close the Services menu and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS using Windows Explorer.
- Delete all files inside the PRINTERS folder.
- Restart your computer.
- Turn on your printer.
- Try printing again to see if the issue is resolved.
Verify Printer's IP Address
Ensure that your printer's IP address in Windows port settings matches the actual IP address of your printer.
- Right-click the printer icon and select Printer Properties.
- Click the Port tab, and then click Configure Port.
- In the Printer Name or IP Address field, make sure the IP address matches the printer's IP address. Correct if necessary.
- Close the Properties window.
Check Printer Status
Sometimes printers can be set to pause or offline.
- Open Devices and Printers from Control Panel.
- Right-click your printer icon and select See what's printing.
- On the Printer menu, ensure Pause Printing or Use Printer Offline is not selected. Clear any checkmarks if present.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Setup Cartridge Error on Black (K) cartridge only
I have an error with my Officejet Pro 8035e printer where it doesn't recognize the black cartridge and is stuck on a "Setup cartridge" error. I no longer have the black setup cartridge. Can I bypass this error or purchase a new set, or just black, Setup cartridge?

Re: Getting error code 0xb8558e8a on my 3830 printer
hello,
the support here is sending me to send DMs but nobody in the DMs is answering simple questions:
1) Where are the authorized HP service centers for consumer print in USA. On the locator url only 1 place shows up in southern california.
I have asked multiple times in the DMs where are the other locations and nobody has given any answer.
2) I was told and given instructions to contact support by phone. To get the number I followed instructions to get to the contact options. However I mentioned in the DMs that the message it shows is " service unavailable at this time"
So it seems HP does not offer any support solutions if warranty has expired and doesnt not want to tell customers this.
It seems only oopption would be to buy a new printer.
Re: Printer won't turn on
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8139e isn’t powering on—let’s try some troubleshooting steps to get it working again!
Check the Power Source
- Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors or extension cords).
- Try a different outlet to rule out power issues.
Perform a Power Reset
- Unplug the printer and wait 60 seconds to discharge residual power.
- Plug it back in and press the Power button.
Inspect the Power Cable & Adapter
- Ensure the power cable is securely connected to the printer.
- If possible, test with a compatible HP power cable from another printer.
Try these steps and let me know if you need further assistance! 🚀

Re: Control Panel
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It looks like your HP control panel is stuck on a white screen with the HP logo and isn’t responding.
Here are some steps that might help:
Perform a Hard Reset
- Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 15 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Note: Please connect the printer directly to a wall outlet.
- If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Update Printer Firmware
- Visit HP’s support page and check for any available firmware updates.
- Install the latest firmware and restart the printer.
Since your control panel is completely unresponsive, updating the firmware and performing a hard reset should help.
