@1teacherst, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I understand that you are getting a carriage jam issue on the printer, and it shows Event code: 71.02.4A, I am glad to assist you in fixing this issue.

Check for obstructions in the carriage path to make sure the carriage path is not blocked.

  • With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • If your printer has a battery, remove the battery.
  • Open the door to access the carriage inside of the printer.

Examples of carriage access doors

Examples of printer door locations

  • Look in the carriage path for debris such as crumpled paper or dislodged labels, and then remove any that you find.

Example of a printer with debris in the carriage path

View inside a printer showing crumpled paper in the carriage path causing a carriage jam

  • If the carriage on your printer has a latch, make sure it is closed.

Example of the carriage latches

  • Use your hand to move the carriage to each side, making sure it moves freely. If the carriage is stalled or docked to one side of the printer and you cannot move it, continue with these steps.
  • Close the carriage access door.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer, and then turn the printer on.

Reset the printer

  • An error might continue to display after the jam is cleared. To clear the error state, reset the printer, connecting the power cord directly to a wall outlet to make sure the power source is stable and prevent more carriage jams.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates

Hello, All lights blinking on your HP Deskjet 1050 usually means a hardware or scanner failure. Try: Power reset (unplug for 60 sec, then plug in). Check cartridges and paper jams. Reinstall latest drivers from HP site. Reset printer: Hold Cancel + Black Copy for 10 sec. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Printing and it has faint lines going along it

Every time I print a larger sized photo there are faint lines going along the photo, I only got this printer last weekend so it would not be an issue with the ink as it brand new, I have taken out the ink and put it back in just in case and this made no difference, I'm unsure of what to do as I am trying to print some A3 prints out for my home and the quality of the printed photo is awful, this happens when printing black and white and colour.

Please assist?!

Our printer used to print colour - no problem.

Now it won't and we don't have the option to select colour - let alone set as default.

Should I be worried the iMac OS is Sequoia 15.1 not listed in the drop down above?

@Hawks_Eye, thank you very much, nothing from list helps me, but you inspired me to keep looking for solution, and i find it.

So, if you as me tried to upgrade firmware from EWS, and upgrade not completed properly. Your printer not working now, try to perform follow steps:

  1. Power off printer (by unpluging power cable) for 30-60 second;
  2. Press and hold [WiFi button] + [Power button];
  3. Plug power cord to printer, while keep holding [WiFi button] + [Power button];
  4. Printer lights up all indicators: [Toner lights, Power light, ! light];
  5. Release [WiFi button] + [Power button] buttons, indicators from p.4 keep lightning;
  6. Now you can plug printer USB cable to your computer, and Windows detects printer as a [printing device];
  7. Use usblist2.exe tool as mentonied in instruction for this tool.

In my case, system lost printer after step #2 of instruction for usblist2.exe (Drag the SWUPGRADE_ON.PRN file and drop it down on the usblist2.exe in the firmware folder downloaded.), so i skip this step, and follow with step #3 (Drag the firmware file(***.hd) and drop it down on the usblist2.exe).

After 5 minutes printer reboots, and working properly with new firmware.

@Sjsjfiekjhd, I see you were interacting with @VikramTheGreat however, he's away for now and I'd love to help you out!

Based on the image and your question, the "Revise su cuenta" (Check your account) message along with the toner level warning icon indicates that your HP LaserJet M110w printer has one or more issues related to account verification or toner subscription. Here's a detailed explanation of what might be happening:

Possible Reasons for the Error:

HP+ or Instant Ink Account Issue:

If your printer is enrolled in HP+ or Instant Ink for toner, it needs to be connected to your HP account and the internet at all times.

If there’s a billing issue, like an expired credit card, or if you haven’t completed the HP+ setup, the printer may stop printing.

Toner is Extremely Low or Empty:

The vertical icon with an exclamation point (⚠️) suggests that your toner level is critically low or empty.

If your printer is on a toner subscription, it may stop printing until your account is in good standing or a replacement toner is installed.

No Internet Connection:

Your printer must be connected to Wi-Fi to verify your account and subscription status.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

I have the same issue. The printer tells me that a problem occurred and no further printing is possible, until the issue was resolved.
Unfortunately, no information about what I have to do. I followed the previous advice checking for HP web services, but nothing changed. In the printer set up the toner is fully charged (100%). Also, the printer is registered.
I have no idea what to do next. Any ideas?

@DonDickinson, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding New Black Ink Cartridge Not Reading Issue on HP OfficeJet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet 5740 e-All-in-One Printer is not recognizing a new black ink cartridge, follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Step 1: Verify the Ink Cartridge

  1. Use Genuine HP Cartridges: Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP cartridges might not be recognized correctly.
  2. Check Compatibility: Make sure the ink cartridge is compatible with your HP OfficeJet 5740 printer. Recommended cartridges include:
    • HP 62 Black Ink Cartridge (~200 pages)
    • HP 62XL Black Ink Cartridge (~600 pages)

Step 2: Install the Ink Cartridge Correctly

  1. Turn on the Printer: Ensure the printer is powered on.
  2. Load Paper: Load plain white paper into the input tray.
  3. Open Cartridge Access Door: Open the cartridge access door by placing two fingers under one or both of the small handles on the sides of the door and lifting it up.
  4. Remove Cartridge: Lightly press down on the ink cartridge you want to replace and pull it out towards you to remove it.
  5. Handle New Cartridge: Remove the new cartridge from its package. Be careful to touch only the black plastic on the cartridge. Pull the orange tab to remove the protective tape.
    • Note: Do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles.
  6. Insert New Cartridge: Slide the new cartridge into the empty slot at a slight upward angle, then gently push up until it snaps into place.

Hope this helps!

In my case I just connected to the printer by the http printer console and activated the web services tab.

My printer has ever been offline before, I used to print by the usb cable.

After it was connected to the wifi network and were activated the web services (it requires to log in as admin and use the serial number of the printer as password) it started to print again  Hp.PNG

This made the trick for me,

I hope it can be usefull for somebody else.

Best regards.

@Abigail25, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Error Message about Continuous Ink Cartridges!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your HP printer is mistakenly identifying your genuine HP cartridges as continuous ink systems (CIS), which it does not support. Here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Steps to Resolve the Issue:

Verify Cartridge Authenticity:

  • Ensure that all ink cartridges are genuine HP cartridges. Sometimes, non-HP or refilled cartridges may trigger this error.
  • Check the packaging and labels for the HP logo and originality seals.

Re-insert Cartridges:

  • Open the printer's ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove each ink cartridge and check for any visible damage or ink leaks.
  • Reinsert the cartridges, ensuring they click securely into place.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. Go to the HP Support website, search for your printer model, and download any available firmware updates.

Reset the Printer:

  • Resetting the printer to its factory default settings can sometimes resolve such issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

Clean Electrical Contacts:

  • Clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridges and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water. Make sure the contacts are dry before reinserting the cartridges.
