My HP Series 7000 printer shows Error Code E3. I have checked for paper jams, and, turned off the printer disconnected from the power outlet, and turned it back on. The error code is still showing. Not sure what else to do
HP Series 7000 Printer Error Code E3
Re: yellow flashing light and E3 error code, no obstruction, had some null notifications
Hello @Kuroi_Kenshi, many thanks for looking at my query. There appears to be no obstructions in the carriage path or any paper jams, and I've reset the printer as per your instructions many times. The firmware is up-to-date as is the operating system, but there was an update to the operating system I think at the time when I received an overnight null message on the HP Smart app, and the printer hasn't worked since. I have very limited knowledge and hope you may be able to help me further. Thank you for your continued assistance,
Kind regards

OfficeJet 9020 EventCode 17.03.90
Hi all,
I use the OJ9020 in my network (connected "wired).
I use MacOS Ventura and it works fine.
My wife uses MacOS Monterey, and more often than not the printer does not print at all or with a delay of several 10s of minutes.
In the eventlog, I find quite frequently 17.03.90. I was not able to find what that means.
Does anyone have an idea (either for the event code or the problem itself?)
Of coures, printer firmware is up to date, is has been restarted numerous times, and also de-installed and re-installed on my wife's computer....

Re: OfficeJet 9020 EventCode 17.03.90
I found out about the error code: It seems like:
17 - something with the cartridges
03 - Magenta
90 - most likely something between the notification and the warning about soon-to-be-empty cartridges
But the original problem of printing delayed or not at all still holds.
printer in error
when i try to print from my lap top i get a "Printer in Error" message, however i can print from my phone. Was working fine a couple days ago. Both devices are connected to the WiFi and both devices have been restarted, there is also no paper jam and there is enough paper in the draw, however still getting error message.
Re: Uanable to turn off Prinetr Alert messages
Eventually taken the decision to delete anything I could find in DEVICE manager - hardware and software - plus HP SMART an eventually the newly installed software seemed to do it's job. AND yes I can print.
A very time consuming and frustrating process and hopefully will see the end of these inappropriate ALERTS
Expired Certificate Error
I apologize for my very bad english !
My new printer HP 7006 Smart Tank can’t print a file from Word or Excel.
Can we help me please !

HP LaserJet P2035 Power Supply Repair
Hi all
Let's take it easy and fast
I just need to know the exact value of resistor elements on P2035 or P2055 power supply board.
The resistor R503 wich is between the gate - source of main power mosfet (K4005) and R508 which stays between mosfet's gate and transistor Q502's collector.
The technical number of the borad is RM1-6345
Even a high quality image of a part of the backside of one of these boards while showing the values of those SMD resistors as clearly as possible is enought for me.
Thank in advance!

Re: Error Code B8BBCA96
Hi @lsfinn
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The B8BBCA96 error code on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 typically indicates a firmware or hardware issue that causes the printer to become unresponsive.
Since rebooting only provides temporary relief, let's go through some troubleshooting steps.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
- Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Update Firmware
- Go to HP’s support page and check for the latest firmware update.
- Install it using HP Smart or HP Easy Start.
Check for Paper Jams or Hardware Issues
- Open the printer and inspect for any loose parts or obstructions.
- Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges.
Factory Reset the Printer
- On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
- This will erase settings but may resolve the issue.

Re: Unable to start my Officejet 4650
Hi @AshFog
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet 4650 is completely unresponsive. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to try and revive it.
Steps to Fix a Printer That Won't Turn On:
Perform a Power Reset
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds, then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and try turning it on.
Check the Power Source
- Ensure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or extension cord.
- Try a different outlet to rule out power issues.
Inspect the Power Cable
- If possible, test with another compatible power adapter.
- Look for signs of damage on the cable or connector.
Reset the Printer’s Internal Charge
- Disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the wall.
- Wait 2-3 minutes, then reconnect everything and try turning it on.
Check for Hardware Issues
- If the printer briefly powers on but shuts down again, there may be a logic board issue or a loose internal connection.
- If under warranty, HP support may need to service it.

Re: I put 2 new cartridges into my printer a week ago and ever since it wont work.
@Queeniekins, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm really sorry you're having such a frustrating experience . Let's cut through the noise and try to get your HP DeskJet 2823e back up and working right now, especially since you urgently need to print documents.
Here's a step-by-step fix approach for your issue:
Decode the E0 Error
On the HP DeskJet 2823e, an E0 error + blinking Power button typically indicates cartridge-related issues.
>Since you unsubscribed from Instant Ink, and installed Instant Ink cartridges, your printer now refuses to use them.
>Instant Ink cartridges are not usable once you cancel the subscription, Instant Ink cartridges only work in enrolled printers.
Your Immediate Solution
You need to remove the Instant Ink cartridges and install standard retail HP 67 or HP 67XL cartridges (not ones shipped via the Instant Ink program). Here's what to do:
- Turn off the printer
- Remove the Instant Ink cartridges (they'll say "Instant Ink" or have a blue cap).
- Install standard HP 67 black and tri-color ink (retail versions).
- Turn the printer back on.
If you don’t have standard cartridges yet, you’ll need to buy a new pair (unfortunately, yes — even if your current ones are full).
Optional Tip: If unsure what type of cartridge you have
Look for:
Instant Ink cartridges say “Instant Ink” clearly on their label or have a blue cap.
Retail cartridges just say HP 67 or 67XL, usually with black cap and standard HP branding.
Fix Copying Blank Pages
Once the cartridge issue is sorted, if your printer still copies blank pages:
- Make sure you are scanning/copying face down on the bottom-right corner of the glass (not in the ADF).
- Try a firmware update via the HP Smart app.
- If printing is fine but copying still gives blank pages, it could indicate a scanner bulb failure (hardware defect).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Re: Hp smart tank 515 blinking lights
Hi @77777kmj,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Error Messages:
- Ensure there are no error messages on the printer’s control panel. If there are, consult the user manual to understand what the specific blinking pattern signifies.
Paper Jam:
- Verify there is no paper jam in the printer. Open all accessible panels and gently remove any stuck paper.
Ink Levels:
- Check that the ink tanks are adequately filled and properly installed. Low ink levels can sometimes cause the printer to become unresponsive.
Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is correctly connected to your computer or network. Re-establish the connection using Wi-Fi or USB to check for stability.
Firmware Update:
- Look for any available firmware updates for your printer model. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause operational issues.
Reset Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
I hope this helps.

Re: Just changed ink cartridge and general printer error came up. It is an HP ink cartridge
@baphilba, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP printer. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Check the Ink Cartridges: Ensure the new cartridges are securely installed in their respective slots. Sometimes, they might appear to be installed but aren't properly clicked into place.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn on the printer and wait until it is idle and silent.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer (if applicable).
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and reinstall the ink cartridges.
Clear the Printer Queue: Sometimes, clearing the print queue can help resolve errors. You can do this from your computer's printer settings.
Check for Printer Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website.
Run the Printer’s Built-in Diagnostic Tool: Many HP printers have a built-in diagnostic tool that can help identify and fix issues.
Clean the Ink Cartridge Contacts: Gently clean the contacts on the ink cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of distilled water.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Re: DJ 2300 not recognising new cartridges
Hi Max3Aj, thanks for your message.
After rebooting PC & printer, HP Scan & Print Doctor now it gives me a useful message!
"Use SETUP cartridges"
As I mentioned before, I didn't use the printer when I first bought it. In the interim I discarded the cartridges that came with the machine because I thought they would be too old. I didn't know there was something special about them! So I do not have the SETUP cartridges. Can you please guide me through the neccesary reset procedure?
Thanks in advance,
Tim
By the way, my responses to your other suggestions are:
- I had already cleaned the cartridge and printer contacts three times without improvement. Checked seating each time.
- AFAIK the cartridges are genuine HP 305, bought this last week from Amazon.
- Unplug / replugging made no difference
- the firmware update .exe halts at "update failed".
Re: printheads
@Slamda, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 and 8600 printers do use very similar printhead technology, and they both use the same HP 950/951 ink cartridge series. However, HP does not officially support swapping printheads between different models, even closely related ones like the 8600 and 8610.
If You Still Want to Try It — Here Are the Steps:
Steps to Replace the Printhead:
- Turn off the Printer: Ensure your printer is turned off and unplugged from the power source.
- Open the Cartridge Access Door: Lift the cartridge access door to expose the printhead carriage.
- Remove Ink Cartridges: Carefully remove all ink cartridges from the printhead.
- Lift the Printhead Latch: Raise the latch handle on the printhead carriage.
- Remove the Old Printhead: Gently lift the old printhead out of the carriage.
- Install the New Printhead: Insert the new printhead into the carriage and lower the latch handle until it clicks into place.
- Reinsert Ink Cartridges: Place the ink cartridges back into their respective slots.
- Close the Cartridge Access Door: Close the door and plug the printer back into the power source.
- Turn on the Printer: Power on the printer and wait for it to initialize.
Steps to Recognize the Cartridge:
- Run a Printhead Alignment: Access the printer's menu and select the option to align the printhead. This ensures proper installation.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check for any firmware updates on the HP support website and install them to ensure compatibility.
- Reset the Printer: If the printer does not recognize the new printhead, perform a full power reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove all ink cartridges.
- Hold the power button for 60 seconds.
- Leave the printer unplugged for 10-15 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
- Clean the Printhead Contacts: Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to clean the printhead contacts before installation.
- Check for Packaging Remnants: Ensure all protective seals, stickers, or plastic films are removed from the new printhead.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Re: how to turn off information light on desk jet 4155e
@chuckychimes, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To turn off the information light on your HP DeskJet 4155e printer, you can try the following steps:
Check for Errors: The information light often indicates an error or a need for attention. Press the information button (usually marked with an "i") to print a status report. This report can help identify any issues that need to be resolved.
Reset the Printer: If the light remains on, try resetting the printer. You can do this by:
- Pressing and holding the "X" button and the Wi-Fi button simultaneously for at least 15 seconds until the power button flashes.
- Alternatively, unplug the power cable from the back of the printer and the wall socket, wait for about a minute, and then plug it back in.
Check Instant Ink Status: Sometimes, the information light can indicate an issue with the Instant Ink service. Ensure your subscription is active and there are no billing issues.
Update Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can do this through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
