Re: HP Smart Tank 7305 available by my devices, but cannot print

Hey, thanks for the support, I followed the instructions but I'm still having trouble printing:

Paul8644_0-1745434569617.png

When I select “HP Smart Printing”, I can print the Excel file, for example. I suspect that my notebook has some problems with the driver, because when I open the printer settings in Windows, I get the following message:

Paul8644_1-1745434695123.png

As soon as I select “Yes”, I get the following message, but in the end nothing happens (no installation of anything):

I have also tried to scan, but the scanner does not work either.

Any further advises?

Thanks and best regards

Paul

HP M454 spits out blank envelopes - ignoring paper size settings?

For some reason can't set: OS is Sonoma 14.6.1 and printer is Laserjet M454dw.

Printing from inDesign 2024:

I just printed out 100 5x7 envelopes no problem. Copied the same file and adjusted the page size for No 6 envelopes (a little bigger than 3.5x6.5 inches. Every envelope comes out blank. Double checked every setting for page size, orientation, etc. When I put in a letter sheet, the envelope design shows up in the bottom left-hand corner of the sheet even though it's set to centered.

I exported as a jpg and printed from preview. Well, half the envelope design shows up, but it bleeds off the left-hand side of the envelope like it's centered for an 11-inch wide page (letter size)

I've tried recreating the file. Tried changing layout to centered, upper left, scale to fit. I don't understand. I don't have this problem with any other page size, but I don't get a warning that the page size I have is incompatible and as far as I can tell the minimum print size is 3x5 inches.

My new HP Envny 6400e printer it will print in color for photos. will print in color for test page, But will not print color for documents. No color selection visible to choose from drop down menu, just black and white.  I updated my drivers, but no color. My iMac is a 2016. My husband's 2020 iMac will print documents in color. Any ideas?

My original black toner started to get low,  I ordered all new color and black.  Before changing them, the prints suddenly began to have too much blue in them.  I changed out to all new HP toner color and black cartridges.  Still getting too much blue hue in the prints.  I use high quality laserjet paper and it is HP original toner.

Re: OfficeJet 8725 Skipping Letters when printing from specific device through HP Smart

As an aside, there is a windows Universal Print Class Driver that is available on the machine.  The info on it online says it can print PCL (not sure if 3 or 6). I went into the printers properties and selected this driver.  I then tried to print two of the documents in question and got a printer error for each one, that I had to cancel out the print jobs.

Thanks for the continuing support.  The good news is that after deleting and reinstalling  is back to where it was.  The bad news is that, where it was is the original issue.

Driver compatibility check - HP support page is not very helpful on this. I keep getting pushed to this page with my different queries.  https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-officejet-pro-8720-all-in-one-printer-series/model/7902037?sku=J7A28A&serialnumber=CN64JD60YN

This page doesn't provide a driver download option for a new driver.  The last driver date is 2021 and I've reinstalled HP Smart 3 times in the last few days, so that should have the most current driver there.  If there is another page for the latest 8725 driver, please point me to it.

Printer Firmware Update - I already noted in the first posting that my printer firmware was up to date.

Reset Print Spooler - I'm not advanced enough to figure out how to get into the administrator area and do command prompts.  I tried from my user (the only user on the computer) and got errors.

Test printing from another device - As I shared previously, I was able to print the same documents from other devices, so it appears to be isolated to this Surface Pro with Snapdragon Processor.

Alternate Driver Installation - I downloaded this universal driver from HP's site.  upd-pcl6-x64-7.4.0.25959  However, when installing it I got the below issue.  I have no idea how to resolve this error.Print Driver Installation Error JPG.jpg

@Olsen6, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

1. Check Paper Size and Type

  • Ensure that the correct paper size and type are selected in the print settings. Mismatched settings can cause page splitting.

2. Verify Print Settings

  • Check and verify that the print settings match the document's size and quality requirements. You can do this in the application you are printing from by selecting File > Print, then checking the Page Setup or Printer Preferences.

3. Update Printer Drivers

  • Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. You can download and install them from the HP Support Website.

4. Check Paper Condition

  • Inspect the paper load in the input tray. Make sure it is not curled, wrinkled, or damp, as these can affect paper feeding and cause page splitting.

5. Clean the Printhead

  • Use the HP Smart app to clean the printhead. In the app, go to Tools > Print Quality Tools, and select Clean Printhead. This can help if ink flow issues are causing the problem.

6. Use a Print Quality Diagnostic Page

  • You can print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page to identify any print quality issues. On your printer’s panel, press and hold the Information button for five seconds to enable support mode and print the diagnostic page.

7. Examine Print Alignment

  • Use the HP Smart app to align the printhead if necessary. This ensures the printheads are correctly aligned, which can help prevent splitting.

@srey911,  Welcome to HP Support Community,

I’m really sorry you’ve had to deal with this much frustration 😤. I know how annoying it is when something that should be easy ends up taking hours. Don’t worry — Let’s just get your printer working again.

Refer printer's User manual for printer specific steps.

1. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

  • Turn off your printer.
  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the printer.
  • While holding the Wi-Fi button, turn the printer back on.
  • Keep holding the Wi-Fi button until the light blinks quickly, indicating that the network settings have been reset.

This clears any old Wi-Fi credentials, allowing you to reconfigure the printer for the new network.

2. Reconfigure Printer Wi-Fi Setup

  • Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer again (it should blink rapidly if it’s not already connected).
  • Use the printer’s control panel to reconnect it to your new Wi-Fi.

Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart app or the printer's web-based setup page (accessed via the printer's IP address) to connect the printer to Wi-Fi.

3. Check Your Router’s Compatibility

  • Ensure that the Wi-Fi network is using the 2.4 GHz frequency, as the LaserJet P1102W may not be compatible with 5 GHz networks.
  • If your new router is dual band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), make sure the printer is connecting to the correct band.

You may also refer these guides:

Thanks for sticking with it — I know this has been super frustrating 😩. You're not alone, and you shouldn't have to deal with this much hassle just to print something.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

HP Deskjet 1112 Stopped Printing

$

Hello!

I have an HP Deskjet 1112 that has printed fine for several years.  All of a sudden it stopped working.  HP  Scan Doctor says everything's fine, but when I hit test print in Scan Doctor nothing prints. If I align the print heads or clean them it prints a page, but nothing else works.

I have removed the printer from my computer, and then uninstalled and re-installed the driver. The documents will show up in the que but say "Error-Printing" and a message pops up saying "there was an error in printing your document." I've unplugged the printer's power cable, unplugged that from the wall socket, unplugged the USB cable from the printer and computer, waited several minutes, plugged everything back in and restarted and have tried everything else I can find.  Everything on my computer  says the printer is ready to go, but nothing prints. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
