That happened with my 8600 Pro Plus last month. You have two options try to purchase a cleaning kit for your print head. I choose to purchase an HP new print head with starter cartridges. If you purchase a cleaning kit you have to wait 24 hours before you re-install the print head. It must be completely dry. You can get a new print head on Amazon The item is HP CR322A Print Head Replacement Kit it cost $140. Even if you buy the cleaning kit you will have to replace all your ink cartridges so in the long run I think it's best just to replace the print head. There is really no other fix. I tried for several hours trying to fix my printer no luck until I purchased the a new print head. The same thing happened to me, the problem started after I replaced two ink cartridges. If you let the ink cartridge deplete completely it may cause the print head to clog up. I didn't know this. I've done this before and never had a problem until last month. It's best to replace your cartridge before it's completely empty. Replacing the print head is very easy. Hope this helps.

Re: All lights are blinking and error code.
@Neil0068, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If all lights are blinking on your HP DeskJet 3630 All-in-One printer and the 'E' is flashing on the control panel, this usually indicates a serious error condition. It’s often related to:
- Cartridge issues
- Paper jam
- Scanner error
- Firmware or hardware failure
🔍 Try These Steps to Diagnose & Fix:
Check for Paper Jams
- Open all accessible areas (input tray, output tray, cartridge access door).
- Remove any jammed paper or bits stuck inside.
- Turn the printer off and back on.
Check Ink Cartridges
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Wait for the carriage to stop moving.
- Remove both cartridges and check:
- Are they properly seated?
- Are you using genuine HP cartridges?
- Any tape left on the contacts (if newly installed)?
- Any ink leakage or damage?
Reinsert them securely and close the door.
Reset the Printer
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cable from the printer.
- Unplug from the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back into a wall outlet directly (not a surge protector).
- Reconnect to the printer and turn it on.
Check for Specific Blink Pattern
- If the 'E' is blinking, usually an error code number follows (like "E1", "E3", etc.).
- Try to spot any number shown briefly after the E— this can help pinpoint the exact issue.
Update Firmware (if possible)
If it powers on normally for a short time:
- Go to HP Driver & Software page for the DeskJet 3630.
- Download and install the firmware update.

Re: my Office Jet 8028e all in one Printer completed failed, warrant to 9/5/2024
@tigerlover, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
That sounds extremely frustrating — especially for an all-in-one device that should just work when you need it. Since you’ve already gone through all the HP-recommended steps and the device is:
- Powering on by itself
- Printing gibberish or random characters
- Not responding to the power button
- Generally not functioning normally
It’s safe to say this is a hardware-level failure — possibly related to the printer's logic board (formatter board), firmware corruption, or internal circuitry. Here’s what you can do next:
✅ Double-Check These (If Not Already Done):
Power Reset (Hard Reset):
- Disconnect the printer from power and USB/Ethernet cables.
- Wait at least 2–3 minutes.
- Press and hold the Power button for 20 seconds (if it still won’t shut off, just wait).
- Plug it back in and see if the behavior persists.
Isolate From Network:
- If it keeps printing unknown letters, it might be receiving rogue print jobs.
- Try starting it completely disconnected from your Wi-Fi/Ethernet/USB and see if the gibberish continues.
USB Device Malfunction:
- A corrupted print queue from a PC can trigger odd jobs. Clear the print queue on your PC.
- Disable all HP printers from Settings > Printers & Scanners, then reconnect manually once you've reset things.
📝 Bonus Tip:
If you’re still dealing with random printing, remove the printer from all your devices:
- Go to Devices and Printers→ Right-click and Remove device.
- Clear your print spooler:
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) and type:
net stop spooler
del %systemroot%\System32\spool\printers\* /Q
net start spooler
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) and type:
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Re: OfficeJet Pro 8025e is stuck on "Verifying" and the carriage is locked.
@jwrossi, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e is stuck in a serious firmware boot loop, where the printer can’t get past the “Verifying” screen, and the ink carriage is stuck in the parked position, making cartridge access impossible. This issue usually points to firmware corruption, hardware initialization failure, or security verification problems due to unauthorized cartridges or improper shutdowns. Let’s try a few advanced steps.
1. Basic Hard Reset (Safe Power Drain)
You've mentioned power cycling already, but let's make sure we do a full static discharge:
- Unplug the power cord from the printer (while it’s ON if possible).
- Unplug it from the wall too.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- While unplugged, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual charge.
- Reconnect directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors) and try powering on.
If still stuck on “Verifying,” proceed.
2. Bypass Network & Cartridge Checks (No Cartridge + No Internet Startup)
Let’s try to boot with minimal conditions:
- Disconnect any Ethernet or USB cables.
- Ensure your Wi-Fi router is OFF or far away to avoid auto-connection during startup.
- Open the ink access door, then power on the printer with the door open.
- In some cases, this bypasses cartridge verification or prompts an error screen.
If the carriage doesn’t unlock or no change happens, continue.
3. Emergency Firmware Recovery (USB Method via HP Firmware Tool)
Since your printer is stuck at the verifying screen, this might be the only real fix if the firmware is corrupted.
Steps:
- Go to HP’s firmware update page:
👉HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e Firmware Download - Download the firmware update utility.
- Disconnect power from the printer.
- Press and hold the Cancel (X) + Wi-Fi (or Wireless) buttons, plug in the power, and keep holding the buttons for 10–15 seconds until something different happens (e.g., blank screen or LEDs blinking).
- Connect the USB cable to the printer and your PC.
- Run the firmware update tool and see if the printer is detected.
- If detected, update the firmware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

My warranty expired and now I can't print.
As I see many others have experienced this problem, I am left to try the HP Support Community. My warranty expired (over a year ago!) and suddently I cannot print. It says there is an error with my account, so I have gone to my account numerous times, there is no error other than telling me my printer is offline. My printer says it is connected to my wireless, I have turned off, unplugged and restarted the router, computer and printer at least 2-3 times. I have removed and reconnected my printer to the HP Smart app twice and now it wants me to pay $75 to extend my plan another 2 years. I'm not sure that will resolve the problem, and I resent having to pay to have a (what I believe to be) fully functional printer not work because of a warranty expiration. Trying to connect with an actual person has been impossible. Hoping this message gets me somewhere.

Re: Subject: Issue with Expired Certificate Error on HP Printer Using MacBook
Hi @Lombardogarden,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Update Printer Firmware
Ensure that your printer firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can often cause various errors. Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.
Update MacOS
Make sure your MacBook Air is running the latest version of macOS. Sometimes, operating system updates can solve compatibility issues with printers.
- Go to System Preferences > Software Update to check for updates.
Reset Printing System on Mac
Resetting the printing system can clear the error and resolve the issue. Here's how you can do it:
- Open System Preferences on your Mac.
- Click on Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click in the printer list (or use the Control key when clicking).
- Choose Reset printing system....
- Click Reset to confirm.
- After resetting, re-add your HP Office Jet 8015e printer.
Clear Printer Queue
Clear any pending print jobs in the printer queue as they might be causing the issue.
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Open Print Queue.
- Delete all pending print jobs.
Check Printer's SSL/TLS Certificate
Ensure the SSL/TLS certificate on the printer has not expired. You may need to update it through the printer’s embedded web server (EWS):
- Obtain the IP address of your printer (you can usually find this on the printer's display or through the network settings).
- Enter the IP address into your web browser to access the printer's EWS.
- Navigate to the Network settings and look for SSL/TLS Certificate options.
- Replace or renew the certificate if necessary.
Reinstall HP Software
Sometimes reinstalling the printer software on your Mac can resolve certificate issues.
- Go to Applications > HP folder and run the Uninstaller.
- After uninstalling, download the latest printer software from the HP Support Website and reinstall it.
I hope this helps.

Printer won’t recognize ink
My hp officejet 6600 was working great until I replaced the color ink now I get an error that says ‘there is a problem with the printer or ink system turn off then on if problem process contact HP’.
I have turned it on off numerous times, clean the cartridge area, yes, it’s HP branded ink. I even tried non-HP branded ink. I dont understand what is happening with my printer and of course there is no HP support to figure this out. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this?
Re: Printer Error code E4
@charlieB1232, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
An E4 error on the HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer indicates a paper jam. Here's a detailed guide on how to resolve this error.
Automatically Clear the Jam
- Press the Cancel button
on the printer control panel to automatically clear the jam.
Manual Clearing of Jammed Paper
Paper jams can occur in multiple areas of the printer. Follow these steps in the given order:
1. Clear Jammed Paper from the Ink Cartridge Access Area:
- Lift the ink cartridge access door until the lid locks into place.
- Wait until the carriage stops moving before continuing.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord to avoid risk of injuries or electric shock.
- Move the carriage to the far left and far right, and then remove any jammed paper or debris with both hands.
- Remove the paper path cover by pinching the tabs and lifting it out of the printer.
- Lift the flip gate on the duplex rollers and remove any paper found underneath.
- Reinsert the paper path cover by pinching the tabs together and slide it into position.
- Close the ink cartridge access door and make sure it fully closes.
2. Clear Jammed Paper from the Input Tray and Cleanout Area:
- Pull out the input tray and remove any paper.
- Look inside the input tray and remove any jammed paper or debris using both hands.
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Holding the top of the printer, turn the printer on its side, slide the input tray up to access the cleanout area under the printer.
- Tilt the printer down to view the cleanout area and remove any jammed paper or debris.
- Check the paper pick rollers for any paper and remove if necessary.
- Return the printer to its normal position and reload paper.
3. Reset the Printer: If the issue persists, reset the printer:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
- Turn on the printer to complete the reset.
