Hey @yorkshiresharon

Thank you for your response

Let's try these:

Fully Remove the Printer from Windows

Even if you've uninstalled before, this is the clean sweep approach.

Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.

Right-click on the HP ENVY 4527 if it's there > Click Remove device.

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners and make sure it's not listed.

Restart the computer.

Reinstall Using HP Smart Properly (with Clean Network Detection)

HP Smart needs to install with Bluetooth and Location Services ON.

Download the latest HP Smart: HP Smart App

Refer to this guide to set up your printer: HP printer setup (HP Smart app) | HP® Support

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Restart Print Spooler (Windows):

  1. Search services in the search box. Open the service menu.
  2. In the list, find Print Spooler.
  3. Right-click Print Spooler and click Restart.
    1. If it’s stopped, click Start instead.
  4. Close the window. Check if the issue persists

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Julia8882

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The "Error 75" on your HP LaserJet M140we printer typically indicates an issue with the toner cartridge, often related to compatibility or validation.

Here’s how you can resolve it:

Step 1: Verify the Toner Cartridge

  1. Ensure that the new toner cartridge is an original HP cartridge compatible with your printer model (e.g., HP 141A or HP 142A).
  2. If you’re using a third-party or refilled cartridge, the printer may not recognize it properly.

Step 2: Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for 2–3 minutes.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on to reset the system.

Step 3: Reinstall the Toner Cartridge

  1. Open the printer’s toner access door and remove the cartridge.
  2. Reinsert the cartridge securely, ensuring it clicks into place.
  3. Close the access door and check if the error persists.

Step 4: Update Printer Firmware

  1. Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model. Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support
  2. Install the firmware update to ensure compatibility with the toner cartridge.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!

  • Download and install the latest firmware updates.

Reset the Printer:

  • On the printer control panel, navigate to Settings.
  • Select Printer Maintenance.

@djpanniston, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

First, unplug the printer completely, turn off your laptop and router, wait one minute, then power everything back on.

Next, let’s remove any old settings that could be causing problems. On your laptop, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Remove device. Then, go to Device Manager, under Print queues, and uninstall any drivers related to your printer. Now, reinstall it using HP Smart, this is the easiest way to ensure your printer is properly set up.

If the printer still doesn’t show up or keeps going offline, check your Wi-Fi network and make sure it’s connected to the same network as your laptop and phone. If possible, assign the printer a static IP address in your router settings so it doesn’t keep "disappearing."

If all else fails, try a factory reset on the printer (found in the settings menu) and start fresh.

Also, refer to these helpful guides (these are for your reference):

Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer | HP® Support

HP printer is offline or unavailable | HP® Support

HP Printers - Printer isn't available error (Android) | HP® Support

HP printer not found by the HP Smart app or operating system | HP® Support

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Take care and have a good day.

@Vivian43, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If your HP DeskJet 4100e All-In-One Series printer is not connecting to your Chromebook, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Update Printer Firmware

Ensure that the printer firmware is up to date by downloading the latest version from HP's support website:

  1. Open a web browser on your computer and go to HP Software and Driver Downloads.
  2. Select "Printer."
  3. Enter your printer model (HP DeskJet 4100e) and click "Submit".
  4. Go to HP DeskJet 4100e All-in-One Printer Series Drivers.
  5. Expand the "Printer Firmware" section and click "Download".
  6. Save the file on your computer.
  7. Follow the instructions to update the firmware using the HP Printer Update utility.

Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi Direct

Use Wi-Fi Direct for a direct connection between your Chromebook and the printer:

  1. Print a printer information page to obtain the Wi-Fi Direct name and password by pressing the information button.
  2. On your Chromebook, click the wireless icon from the taskbar and select Wi-Fi.
  3. Select your printer (DIRECT-XX-HP DeskJet Plus 4100) and click "Connect."
  4. Enter the Wi-Fi Direct password from the Printer Information Page.

Reset Printer Connection

If updating the firmware does not resolve the issue, try resetting the Wi-Fi settings on your printer:

  1. Turn off and then turn on the printer.
  2. Press the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons simultaneously for three seconds.
  3. Attempt to reconnect the printer to the router and the Chromebook.

Set up USB Connection

If Wi-Fi connection issues persist, consider setting up the printer using a USB connection:

  1. Remove all packaging, tape, and cardboard from the printer.
  2. Close the ink access door, plug in, and turn on the printer.
  3. Connect a USB cable between the printer and Chromebook.
  4. Follow the steps to load paper and insert ink cartridges.
  5. Install the required HP Smart software from HP Smart.
  6. Complete the printer setup in HP software to add your printer and begin printing.

I hope this helps.

Try these steps:

Verify Printer and Supplies Status

Clear Print Queue

  • Open System Preferences.
  • Go to Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281cdw printer from the list.
  • Click Open Print Queue.
  • Cancel all pending jobs.

Reset Printing System on macOS

  • In Printers & Scanners in System Preferences, right-click (or control-click) in the printer list.
  • Choose Reset Printing System.
  • This will remove all printers and reset all settings. You will need to add the printer again.

Add Printer Again

  • Click Add Printer.
  • Select your printer from the list (ensure it is connected and turned on).
  • Follow the prompts to add your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281cdw printer again.

Check for Software Updates

  • Make sure your macOS is up-to-date. Sometimes updates to macOS can resolve compatibility issues.
  • Go to System Preferences > Software Update.

Use the HP Smart App

  • Ensure the HP Smart app is installed on your macOS. Download it from the Mac App Store.
  • Open the HP Smart app and add your printer.
  • Verify the toner levels and ensure the printer status is idle and ready to print.

I hope this helps.

@suzegeo, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like the issue is related to the printer settings or the macOS print dialog not showing the correct color options. Let’s try a few steps to troubleshoot and fix this:

1. Check Printer Settings:

Printer Settings on macOS:

Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Select your HP Smart Tank 7602 and click on Options & Supplies.

Under Options, make sure the Color Printing option is selected. If it’s set to Black & White or Grayscale, it will print only in black and white.

2. Check Print Dialog Settings:

When you try to print, the print dialog will open.

In the Print dialog window, click on the drop-down menu that shows Presets.

Click on Show Details (if not already expanded) to see more print settings.

Look for a Color option under Color Options or Quality. Make sure it's set to Color and not Black & White or Grayscale.

3. Reset the Printer System (on macOS):

Sometimes resetting the printer system can fix strange printing issues.

Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Right-click (or Control-click) on the printer list and select Reset printing system.

Re-add your printer by clicking the + button, selecting your printer, and reinstalling the drivers.

Hi @PCSO

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The "faulty battery" message on your HP Officejet 250 could be caused by either a firmware issue or an actual problem with the battery itself.

Here’s how you can troubleshoot and determine the root cause:

Step 1: Check Battery Connection

  1. Open the battery compartment and ensure the battery is securely connected.
  2. Remove the battery, inspect it for any visible damage, and reinsert it properly.

Step 2: Charge the Battery

  1. Connect the printer to a power source and let the battery charge for several hours.
  2. Check if the error persists after charging.

Step 3: Update Firmware

  1. Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your Officejet 250. Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support
  2. Install the firmware update and restart the printer.
  3. Verify if the error message disappears.

Step 4: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect it from all power sources.
  2. Remove the battery and wait for 5–10 minutes.
  3. Reconnect the battery and power source, then turn the printer back on.

Step 5: Test Without the Battery

  1. Remove the battery and connect the printer directly to a power source.
  2. If the printer functions normally without the battery, it’s likely the battery needs replacement.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊
