Did you set the paper size on the printer control panel? These printers do not auto-detect paper size so if you do not tell it that there is a6 paper loaded it will assume whatever default paper size is loaded, typically A4. Download the user guide from support.hp.com for details no setting your printer.


As soon as i turn on my printer its in error mode. How do i get it out so i can complete the set up?

As soon as I plug in and turn on my hp envy 6000 series it goes into error mode. How do I get it out of error mode to complete set up?

HP Print and Scan Doctor doesn't print through the computer, but it can run an internal test sheet if that helps. The computer communicates with the printer. Any idea whether the problem is in the printer or in a file in the computer. After SFC the Windows files should be fine, but I guess there could be an inf file or something telling the computer the printer is restricted or something along those lines. Because the job sometimes says "deleting" it seems something is keeping it from going AND telling it to delete as opposed to just sitting in queue or putting up an error message.

I believe I have the printer setup using easy start but I cannot login into HP Smart or activate HP+.  Every time I try to login I get an error that is either "noSession" or "noCookieFound".  I spent hours on the phone with HP support and got nowhere.  It is an OfficeJet Pro 8135e straight out of the box.  I got it several months ago but never needed to set it up until now.  Now I only have a few days left on warranty.

Printer presets do not contain choice for color on my new HP Tank 7602

I tried to print something in color today but could only print in black and white.  The printer presets do not contain an option for COLOR.  The machine is fine and printed out a status report with beautiful color but the printer presets do not contain color so I cannot print anything in color. I tried updating the driver but it did nothing.  There are no error messages. I checked under System Preferences and looked at all the presets.  There is nothing for COLOR.

My HP laser jet pro M15W keeps printing my last printing job over and over without stopping.   All I have to do to set it "off and running"  is to load paper.  This is NOT the printing job that it is set up now to print. Desperate, I tried to do a factory reset, but I can't seem to find good info on how to do that.  Would so appreciate help as I have to print the forms for sending out my estimated taxes before April 15th!  MacOS Sonoma 14.6    Thank you!

Hello HP Community, I have HP Color Laser Jet Enterprise MFP 5800dn Printer, we have sold the device few months ago but yesterday the client called in with Printing errors. The Technician tried to mitigate the issue with reinstalling the product drivers but the error still exits. Unfortunately, the client has a policy which does not allow using the ethernet port, therefore the only available option is the USB since the product does not ship with a wireless network option. The product can copy without issues but can not print via USB, am not sure if the Logic card board is the issue as we have changed several USB cables and tried installing the printer on several PCs but still the error appears on each PC, making the product useless.

Yes, I have done all possible actions.

In the first message I described the essence of the problem. It cannot be solved due to the lack of spare parts. Obviously, a new printer should not fail in a little over 1 year.

Having familiarized myself with this forum, I saw that this problem is systemic in nature, since many users encounter it.

I have been using HP products for a very long time and would like to discuss possible solutions to this problem. Perhaps replacing the printer after the warranty period has expired, or another compensation option.

Step 1: Restart Printer and Computer

  1. Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Step 2: Clear the Print Queue

  1. Open Control Panel and go to Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on your HP Deskjet 4100 and select See what's printing.
  3. Cancel all pending print jobs:
    • Right-click on each job and select Cancel.
  4. Restart the Print Spooler service:
    • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

Cartridge Incompatible

Hi. As what I read and asked some cartridge sellers here in the Middle East, 938 cartridge is compatible for HP OfficeJet Pro 9730e wide format series. Now, I bought a 938 replacement but an error shows or "Incompatible Cartridge". What do I need to do in order to use this 938 to our printer? Thank you

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  3. Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (avoid using a surge protector or power strip).
  4. Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.

Step 2: Clean the Ink Cartridges and Printhead

  1. Remove all ink cartridges from the printer.
  2. Check for any protective tape on the cartridges and remove it if present.
  3. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and the printhead.
  4. Reinstall the cartridges and ensure they are seated properly.
