Thank you for the feedback, all your suggestions have been tried with no change.  To clarify, the printer is able to successfully print the document in duplex mode, the issue is happening AFTER the document prints.  After the printing completes, a second sheet of paper starts to feed in and I get the error message.  I have also tested this independent of the  PC and driver software by testing a two sided copy directly on the printer.  The same result occurs, the two sided copy completes, then a second sheet of paper begins to feed and I get the same error message.

Hi @KR3330

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The error code EBS00P0013 on your HP LaserJet MFP M140we printer typically points to a network setup or communication issue, even though the printer reports an internet connection.

Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Verify Network Connection

  • Check Printer's IP Address:
    • Print a Network Configuration Report from the printer's control panel.
    • Ensure the printer has a valid IP address (e.g., 192.168.x.x). If the IP starts with 169.x.x.x, it means the printer isn't properly connected to the network.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi:
    • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup> Network> Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network and ensure the correct SSID and password are entered.

2. Assign a Static IP Address

  • Access Router Settings:
    • Open a web browser and enter your router's IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.1).
    • Log in using your router credentials.
  • Assign Static IP:
    • Locate your printer in the list of connected devices and assign a static IP address to it.
  • Manually Configure on Printer:
    • On the printer, go to Setup> Network> Manual IP Address Settings and input the static IP you assigned.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit the HP Support website and check for any firmware updates for your printer.
  • Download and install the updates to ensure compatibility and improved performance.

4. Reset Network Settings

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup> Network> Restore Network Settings.
  • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

5.  Use HP Smart App for Setup

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Remove the printer from the app and re-add it by following the setup instructions.

Thanks ShlomiL, we do already have IPv6 disabled.  Still no change.  I have to mention that I plugged a canon multifunction that we just purchased into the same port as the HP, assigned it the IP address the HP was using, and let it go into sleep mode.  Checking it this morning by sending a print job to it, it woke up and printed.  Same network, same cable, same IP address, same print server, different brand and model printer.  No crazy futzing around in settings to get it to work.

Hi @Chickvet

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet printer is stuck in a "shutting down" loop, which can be frustrating.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Steps:
    1. With the printer still showing "shutting down," disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
    2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    3. Wait for at least 60 seconds to allow the printer's internal memory to clear.
    4. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid using a power strip or surge protector).
    5. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on.

2. Check for Firmware Updates

  • If the printer powers on after the reset, check for firmware updates to prevent future issues:
    1. Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
    2. Download and install any available firmware updates.

3. Inspect for Paper Jams or Obstructions

  • Sometimes, a paper jam or obstruction can cause the printer to freeze during shutdown:
    1. Open all accessible areas of the printer (input tray, output tray, and cartridge area).
    2. Remove any stuck paper or debris carefully.

4. Factory Reset the Printer

  • If the issue persists, perform a factory reset:
    1. On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup> Printer Maintenance> Restore Factory Defaults.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the printer.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!

If your HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer is having trouble printing in color after installing it on a new Windows 11 computer, try the following steps to resolve the issue:

  • Ensure that color printing is enabled in the printer settings.
  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click on your HP ENVY 4520 and select Printing Preferences.
  • Verify that the option for color printing is selected.

2. Update Printer Driver:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed for Windows 11.
  • Visit the HP Driver Download Page for HP ENVY 4520 and download the latest drivers.
  • Install the updated driver and restart your computer.

3. Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Make sure that both black and color ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink.
  • Inspect the cartridges for any leaks or damage.

4. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and resolve potential issues with your printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the tool.

5. Clean Printhead:

  • Use the printer’s control panel to clean the printhead to ensure there are no clogs affecting color printing.
  • Navigate to the Setup menu on the printer, select Printer Maintenance, and then choose Clean Printhead.

6. Reset Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in and turn it on.

7. Verify Printer Configuration:

  • Check if the printer is correctly set up on the new computer.
  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.

You need service software to reset the transfer belt.  The transfer belt is not user user-replaceable part, but a service part, and needs to be replaced in the service center.

Hey @AbbyC224

Thank you for your response.

Ugh, that’s just beyond frustrating — you’re doing all the right things, and still getting nowhere. 🥴 A printer that constantly thinks it’s out of paper and won’t print in color from a brand-new MacBook Air is not just annoying — it’s completely unacceptable. Let’s try to dig a little deeper and get you some practical steps that might actually do something this time.

“Out of Paper” Error — But It’s Not

You’ve already cleaned the sensor and confirmed no jams. If the firmware installer is crashing, that could mean it’s not playing nice with macOS Monterey or M2. Let’s try another route that’s been effective for others:

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

@SherT, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Uneven printing issues, where content is cut off at the top or bottom of the page, can typically be resolved through a series of troubleshooting steps. Here's what you can do:

1. Ensure Proper Paper Loading

Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the input tray:

  1. Align the edges of the paper stack to ensure they're straight.
  2. Adjust the paper width guides so they're snug against the edges of the stack but not too tight.

2. Verify Print Settings

Check the print settings on your computer:

  1. Open the document you want to print.
  2. Click on File, then Print.
  3. Ensure that the paper size selected matches the size of the paper in the printer.
  4. Check the layout and margins settings to ensure they're correctly configured.

3. Clean the Printhead

Sometimes, cleaning the printhead can resolve print quality issues:

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display and touch Setup.
  2. Touch Tools.
  3. Touch Clean Printhead and follow the on-screen instructions.

4. Print an Alignment Page

Verify the alignment:

  1. Swipe left on the printer display.
  2. Touch Setup.
  3. Touch Tools.
  4. Touch the Align Printer and follow the instructions.

5. Check for Software Updates (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

Ensure your printer firmware and drivers are up to date. Download the latest updates from the HP Support website.

Following these steps should help resolve the uneven printing issue on your HP Envy 4513 printer.
