Re: More than one access point/wireless router has been found that matches your wireless network nam

Could indicate two things:

The printer is detecting both the  5Ghz and 2.4Ghz channels of your router and considering them different access points which is not a problem.

Or you have mesh extenders and each one is being detected as a separate network. Again, not a problem.

Or someone is spoofing your SSID to steal data, this would be a problem. Turn off all your wireless hardware and see if you still get that warning, if not, it is something in your network and if everything works you really do not have a problem.

Hi @Kcbee,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy Photo 7864 is stuck on the HP logo screen, you've already tried some good basic troubleshooting steps. Here are a few more advanced solutions to attempt.

Perform a Forced Reset

  1. Turn off the printer (if it is on).
  2. Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Disconnect all cables, including USB and Ethernet.
  4. Press and hold the Power button for 60 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips).
  6. Reconnect the power cable only, then power on the printer.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset

A semi-full reset restores the printer to factory settings:

  1. Power off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Press and hold the Wi-Fi button + Back button (or "Cancel" + "Back" depending on your model).
  3. While holding the buttons, plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
  4. Release the buttons once you see the HP logo disappear or a reset message appears.

Update Firmware via USB Recovery Mode

If your printer is stuck, you might be able to recover it by updating the firmware:

  1. Download the latest firmware update for your printer from HP’s official site on a Windows PC.
  2. Connect your printer to the PC via USB cable.
  3. Put the printer into recovery mode:
    • Turn off the printer.
    • Hold Power + Cancel while turning it on.
  4. On your PC, run the firmware update tool and follow on-screen instructions.
  5. If successful, your printer should reboot normally.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Mia1028,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since you've already followed the standard troubleshooting steps for clearing the jam, let's try a few deeper troubleshooting methods.

Ensure No Hidden Paper Pieces

  • Power off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the input and output trays, then check inside using a flashlight.
  • Remove any stuck paper carefully, ensuring no small bits are left inside.

Check for Roller Issues

  • Gently clean the paper feed rollers with a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
  • If the rollers are worn out or not gripping paper properly, they may need replacement.

Reset the Printer

  • Disconnect the power cord and wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

Use Different Paper

  • Try a fresh stack of high-quality paper (avoid damp, curled, or thick paper).

Check for Obstructions in Carriage Movement

  • Open the printer cover and move the ink carriage manually to see if it moves freely.
  • If it is stuck or has resistance, there could be a mechanical issue.

Update Firmware

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware update via HP Smart App.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Re: My printer restarted and stopped switching on

Hi @Vamz,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since your HP OfficeJet 4655 All-in-One Printer briefly turns on when connected to power but does not fully start up, the issue could be related to the power supply, internal hardware, or a firmware glitch. Try these troubleshooting steps.

Power Reset the Printer

  1. Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  2. Wait at least 2 minutes to allow the printer's internal components to discharge.
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector).
  5. Reconnect the power cable to the printer and try turning it on.

Check for Power Issues

  • Try using a different power outlet.
  • If possible, test with another compatible power cord or adapter.
  • If the printer is connected through a power strip, plug it directly into the wall.

Perform a Forced Reset

  1. Unplug the power cord from the printer.
  2. Press and hold the power button while plugging the power cord back in.
  3. Keep holding the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Release the button and check if the printer turns on normally.

Inspect for Hardware Issues

  • If the printer powers on briefly but then shuts off, it could indicate:
    • Faulty power supply: The internal power board may be failing.
    • Overheating issue: Internal components might be preventing startup.
    • Firmware corruption: A failed update could have caused the problem.

Try a Firmware Recovery (if possible)

If the printer screen shows HP logo or error messages before shutting down, there might be a chance to update the firmware:

  1. Connect the printer to your PC via USB.
  2. Visit the HP Software and Drivers page.
  3. Download and install the latest firmware update for your printer.
  4. Follow on-screen instructions to attempt a recovery.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Re: My printer prints allignment but nothing else?

Hi @Jolly13,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP printer is stuck in an alignment loop, which can happen if it fails to recognize the alignment process as complete. Try these steps to fix it.

Complete the Alignment Properly

  • When the printer prints an alignment page, place it face-down on the scanner glass (top-left corner if indicated).
  • Press the "Start" or "OK" button to scan the alignment page.
  • Wait for the printer to confirm that alignment is complete.

If the printer still prints another alignment page, move on to the next steps.

Bypass Alignment (If Possible)

Some HP printers allow you to skip the alignment process:

  • On the printer’s screen, check for a "Skip" or "Cancel" option.
  • If the message keeps popping up, try pressing "X" or "Cancel" repeatedly.

Hard Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug it from power for 2-3 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

If the printer is still printing alignment pages, try the next step.

Clean and Reinstall the Ink Cartridges

  • Open the ink door and remove the cartridges.
  • Check for protective tape (sometimes new cartridges still have tape on them).
  • Wipe the ink nozzles gently with a lint-free cloth.
  • Reinsert the cartridges firmly.
  • Close the printer and restart it.

If alignment issues persist, you may need to reset the printer.

Factory Reset the Printer

A reset can clear errors causing the alignment loop. The steps vary by model, but generally:

  • Press and hold the Power button and the Cancel/X button together for 10-15 seconds.
  • Some models require holding WiFi + Cancel instead.
  • After restarting, try printing a regular document.

Update Firmware & Software

  • If you haven’t already, update the printer’s firmware via HP Smart or HP Support website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hola.

Saludos.

Hi, I have the same problem as you. I think it's caused by a firmware update that blocks non-original cartridges.
HP really pissed me off by blocking these cartridges because their own aren't any better than the refilled ones. They’re just squeezing money out of people.
I’ll never buy an HP product again—I’m going to sell this printer and get one from a different company.

The router is supporting both 2.4GHz & 5GHz.  Not using mesh extenders, only the AT&T router, a Nokia BGW320-505.

From the router, I have a list of all connected devices, and only known devices are shown.

Will turn all off later today and see if indicator goes out.  If it does, will reply to this discussion.

Otherwise, will live with an orange nightlight (it remains on even when printer is sleeping).

Thanks!

I cleared a paper jam in my HPOfficeJet Pro 8025 All in One Product #: 1KR57A. It's not printing or copying and displays the Event Code: 71.02.4B, indicating a paper feed issue. There doesn't appear to be any jammed paper and the rollers look okay. I have turned or and restarted the printer multiple times. Any suggestions are appreciated? Thank you!

Re: Printhead Missing, Not Detected or Incorrectly Installed 0xc19a0023

Hi @dickch03,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error 0xc19a0023 typically indicates a printhead failure or communication issue between the printhead and the printer. Since repeating the troubleshooting steps worked the first time but not now, it's possible the printhead has permanently failed or there's an issue with the printer’s internal components.

Since you've already tried basic troubleshooting, try these advanced steps:

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and printer.
  3. Wait 5–10 minutes.
  4. Plug the printer back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  5. Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

Check the Printhead Installation

  1. Open the printer cover.
  2. Remove all ink cartridges.
  3. Lift the latch securing the printhead.
  4. Take out the printhead and inspect the contacts for any ink buildup or damage.
  5. Wipe the printhead’s gold contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
  6. Reseat the printhead firmly.
  7. Reinstall ink cartridges and close the cover.
  8. Restart the printer.

Update Firmware

If your printer has outdated firmware, it might cause printhead detection issues.

  • Visit HP Support and download the latest firmware for your printer.
  • Install the update following the instructions.

Try a Different Ink Cartridge

  • Sometimes, faulty cartridges can trigger printhead errors. Try replacing the cartridges with new genuine HP ink.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset (Factory Reset)

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Power button and Resume (or Cancel) button together.
  3. Hold them for 10-15 seconds until the printer resets.
  4. Release the buttons and wait for the printer to restart.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have an old LaserJet 1022 that is suddnely doing something weird. Anytime I try to print something, it no longer just prints but the action light on the printer flashes orange and I have push the green-diamond button on the printer for it to print. I have to do this with each print request, even if requesting multiple copies of the same document. I have no idea how this happened. I didn't knowingly make any changes to the setup. I also checked all the settings I know to check and they all look correct. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. 😊

Printer forever going offline

Hi,

Please help. I have an HP Laserjet 3301 cdw something or other. It is forever going offline. I've been in touch with HP and it worked for a while but has now started going offline several times a day. I have just run the diagnostics tool on the HP Smart app which really isn't all that smart. It told me it had fixed the problem, and then as soon as I tried to print the test page, my printer told me it's offline.

It is set up on a network and connected to network by cable. This should not be happening.

Can someone please help? This is ridiculous.

HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M479fdw is giving me an error code on the screen and will not advance past the screen to perform any task. The code is B8D2A9F8. I've had issues with this printer since buying it several years ago. Wish hp's customer service was better to help with issues like this and wish their products worked better so their service wasn't required.

This is a known issue and has been marked as solution found, but that is not the case...

I've replaced a depleted Cyan cartridge with a brand new one. Printer recognizes the cartridge as original and as being full, but then gives me the message "There is a problem with the supply system" and won't allow me to print.

I've tried switching back and forth with the old cartridge, this triggers a new verification but the end result is always the same.

I followed the steps outlined in previous posts, but run into a problem when attempting to update the firmware. The printer states that it is busy and can't update. I tried to use HP Smart, but after I download the update it states: "Cannot update the device. This Firmware Updater does not contain upgrades for your device."

Please advise.
