Thanks for the helpful suggestions. When I try to enable Web Services from the printer itself, it says "Web Services (ePrint and Apps) could not be enabled." I don't know why -- as far as I know, the printer is connected to the internet via Ethernet.

 

On my Mac, when I try to use (what I take to be) the Embedded Web Server to enable Web Services, it goes through the steps and then says "Web Services is not enabled." Maybe something is off about the way the printer is connected to the internet. Or maybe I have to do something with Proxy settings, but I don't know what that is.

 

I also found a utility called "HP Firmware Updater" on my computer, but when I try to use it, it says that "firmware updates are not yet available for your device." But maybe that's because Web Services aren't activated.

 

So I may indeed have to contact the HP Support team, but am not sure what they would do for an out-of-warranty printer or how much it would cost.

My HP laptop does not recognize my HP ENVY 5640 printer. 
I have always been able to print from my iPhone. But since trying to ad the printer to the laptop, the printer goes offline after every print job. 
so frustrating!!!

I had the same problem on my HP Officejet Pro 9025.  Bought on April 27th, '20 and today is May 17, '21... over a year.  Tech Service told me it could not be diagnosed and it was none repairable.  Also I am a couple of weeks out of warranty.  A no go and have to buy a new printer.  Sorry....  The price they gave me was the same as Costco.  Costco has free shipping!  Very poor service.  I have always been a HP printer guy.  Bought a lot in my day

Model # is Office Jet 6700 Premium.   My Icon title Documents. has several documents in it such as Internet. medical history etc

To assist better-

 

1) Does the copy print out the same way? 

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device? 

 

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -

  1. Load plain white paper into the input tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, touch the Right Arrow () to display more options.

  3. Touch Setup (). The Setup Menu displays.

  4. Touch the Down Arrow (), and then touch Reports.

  5. Touch Print Quality Report. The test page prints.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further. 

 

You may also refer to this document with steps to fix the " Print Quality Issues" issue applicable for your printer -  No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issues

 

 Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Photo 6230 Cannot clear "remove and replace cartridge" message

Cannot clear the "remove and replace" cartridge message. Been through all the power off/removal/replace/unplug options many times but to no effect. Also cleaned contacts. Tried both a new cartridge (direct from HP) and a previous one all with the same message. Wonder if it is dead, although I can print without the offending black cartridge in place.

Any suggestions before I file it under "skip"?

My printer is stuck displaying error code OXC4EB8024 HWLMICCI2-v12.  I tried disconnecting the power cord and removed the ink cartridges as suggested on a forum but it didn't fix the problem.

Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.

 

NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.

Printer off and unresponsive

Printer off and won't respond to power button. I repeatedly have to reset by unplugging both ends of the power cord? Any long term solutions so I can stop this time consuming and annoying reboot?

HP Smart Tank Plus 559: control panel freaking out after setup

I just set up my new HP printer tank. I filled the ink tanks and installed the print heads as shown in the manual. But when I closed the doors the control panel is going crazy. Button n° 2, the screen, the info-button and the on/off button are lighting up the whole time. I turned off the machine, switched the power off but every time I switch on I get the same result.

HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 - jammed paper, “printer failure”, and “improper shutdown” message

This printer recently started giving all three of these error messages together. Every time I power on it says improper shutdown, and when I try to do anything it says printer failure. Also gives a message to check the tray and clear any stuck paper. I’ve dismantled everything and it’s clear. The carrier moves. I’ve restored to defaults (twice), power cycled (twice), bypassed surge protector, updated firmware, and reseated cartridges. Nothings changed it. This printer worked OK a few weeks ago, outside of a badly uneven print, but it at least worked. Any suggestions?
