When printing a shipping Label the Bar Codes and QR codes are not printed correctly.
Error message is as follows: The printhead appears to be missing, not detected or incorrectly installed. my only options are the Show me button which I can't click and the question mark on the left of the screen. I click on the question mark and it shows me 4 options... 1) reinstall the printheads, 2) clean the electrical contacts, 3) replace the printheads, 4) contact HP support. It was working fine a few days but all of a sudden it stopped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My ink cartridge unit does NOT have the latch on the right side.
Thank you.
I want to use a black ink cartridge only to do my printing. I have change the setting on my computer but the physical printer keeps wanting me to replace the color ink before it will print. I have restarted the printer several times. That color cartridge is empty and the others have some but I only want to use the black Cartridge.
I also went to HP app and tried to change the printer to the black ink only thinking that would solve the problem but they would not accept the settings change and show an error message. Help.
Hi,
The printer requires all ink cartridges and cannot be used with any empty cartridge, this cannot be bypassed in any way, as described below:

This model printer is not listed under the affected printers, refer to - Web Services Stop Working
No, the original disk is not required to update the printer firmware. Updating the firmware may fix any bugs in the printer software. It may or may not resolve this issue.
Have you tried enabling web services on the printer? Refer to page 69 of the user guide to know how to do it.
If you are not able to enable web services and update the firmware, you may have to contact the HP Support team for further assistance.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
Save pdf you want to print on a USB drive, you have a USB port on the printer bottom left side, try to print it directly from a USB drive. That will eliminate possible computer/driver related issues.
Please try to print in HIGH quality or FINE mode.
Regards.
Log in to your Instant Ink account and check if the printer is removed from the service. To assist you better,
Did you perform a factory reset on the printer?
Try making a standalone copy and check if that prints fine without your intervention. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

As this is a hardware issue, I’d recommend you contact HP Phone Support in your region regarding service options for your printer.
Follow the instructions below to reach them:
1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hi,
It might be helpful to clarify your HP PC model to get some better understanding, without knowing its model we cannot answer such a question...
Hi there, I have problem with my few days old device. It sometime becomes unresponsive during sleep mode. It does not accept new print jobs and also an input from non responding black touch screen. First press of power button is without reaction, a second press turns off the device. In this strangely state of device, I am able to ping device and also access Embedded Web Server, but that is all. Power off and power on of device is only solution to continue in work.
The OS driver is configured to use standart TCP/IP port. Firmware version is 002.2014A.00.
I have catched mentioned behaviour on video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p36dxP_lRgQ.
Hey HP Community, first time poster here.
I have a small business client with an HP Officejet 7740 printer setup on a network. It was working perfectly fine on all its workstations until about a month ago, when one of the workstations was believed to have been updated to Windows 10 20H2 and then he started to have issues with paper mismatch errors and then it just plain would not print at all despite being able to ping and verifying the correct driver is installed and the document making it to the print spooler. No changes were made other than Windows updates. In Tray 1, there's letter size paper and in Tray 2, there's tabloid paper (A3). So then I uninstalled the printer, rebooted and reinstalled from scratch and it worked briefly and now he's getting the paper mismatch errors again as well as not printing at all. He usually prints PDF diagrams on Tabloid paper. I turned off Choose Paper Source by PDF page size in Adobe Reader (it was on initially). Then we tried manually printing to Tray 2 and it wouldn't print at all. The printer has Tray 1 by default but it is set to automatically select on the computer. I think it's trying to always print to Tray 1, when it should be going to Tray 2 automatically.
Also, in a related story, someone had an older computer at their workstation until a week ago when it was replaced with a new one and was working with the 7740 printer fine. On the new computer, we cloned her existing machine to the new one with all apps/settings in tact, patched it to 20H2 and she reports that her printer is doing exactly the same thing (paper mismatch errors and not printing at all) as the other one.
I believe there's some issue with Windows 10 20H2 and this printer. The one computer the printer works perfectly on has Windows 10 ver. 2004.
Any ideas? Thanks in Advance!!!!

Hi,
i have the exact same behaviour with my printer since some (maybe 2 or 3) weeks. It's really annoying. I tried the 60 second power cycle, no success ...
My solution was:
Press several times on (invisible) back-arrow to reach hidden support menu, select resets and perform semi-full reset.
Welcome to the HP support community.
I am sending you a private message with steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
I hope this helps resolve this issue completely.
To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
Cheers.
Cannot clear the "remove and replace" cartridge message. Been through all the power off/removal/replace/unplug options many times but to no effect. Also cleaned contacts. Tried both a new cartridge (direct from HP) and a previous one all with the same message. Wonder if it is dead, although I can print without the offending black cartridge in place.
Any suggestions before I file it under "skip"?
I just replaced the ink (genuine HP product ordered from Amazon) in my printer a couple weeks ago. It printed fine but now is stuck on an error with the color cartridge. If I hold power+X wait 5 seconds, release X then release power, it prints a diagnostic page and the color section is fine. It indicates the color cartridge is almost 90% full. After the diagnostic page, it goes right back to flashing, and the web interface still says cartridge error. Are there any other tools that can be run? I doin't want to buy another ink as it's 90% full, plus I'm not concerned it's just the ink that's the issue. I only have printed 75 total pages with this printer.
