I understand you are getting an error please re-insert or lower the photo tray.

Did you make any changes to your printer?
Are you able to make a copy from your printer?
Have you tried printing from a different application? Does the issue persist?

Try updating the printer firmware and check if it helps.
Update the printer firmware using this link. Click Here
Keep the paper in photo tray and remove other papers from the tray and try to perform a copy and check whether your printer is able to make the copy.
Perform a power reset
Press the Power button () to turn off the product.
Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
Disconnect the USB cable from the back of the product.
Wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord to the product.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet. Do not use a surge protector, extension cord, or power strip.
Press the Power button () to turn on the product.
Reconnect the USB cable to the product.
If the issue still persists after trying out the steps. It could be a faulty sensor on the printer.
