Gordon,

I would follow this document from the HP website. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3762364# and at the bottom it will ask you to time the amount of time it takes to print. Make sure you chose the correct length of time on the left and the correct operating system above.

An additional step you should try would be to download the software from the website here is the link for your particular printer: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01905821&lc=en&product=3762364&

Steps

1. The web browser should find out your OS automatically, but double check to make sure it is correct

2. Click next

3. Click Driver-Product Iinstallation Software(1)

4. Click officejet full feature software and driver

5. Click the red download button above "overview"

After the software finishes downloading, uninstall the previous software and make sure to unplug the USB cord from the PC and the printer. After it is uninstalled make sure to reboot the PC. When the computer boots up go ahead and run the download, but make sure to not plug the printer in until the software tells you to plug it in. Finish the setup and let me know if anything changes please.
