Hi all,
I have a HP Deskjet 3070A printer, which up until recently has been working ok. It is about 1 year old. For reference, this is the second printer I have had in 2 years!
I replaced the ink cartridges in the printer (complete set) about 2 months ago, with genuine HP cartridges from PC World. The printer was working fine until 1 week ago, when trying to print the screen filled with errors saying the cyan....black...magenta & yellow cartridges were not geuinue and did not work in the printer. It also said the ink level on each was zero. A quick search online said to take the cartridges out, then re insert, to ensure seated properly. Still no joy.
I then proceed to unistall and re install the printer onto the computer.
I try printing again. This time, a message comes up on the printer 'connecting', but nothing happens. It stays like this for over an hour before I try to turn it off using the power button. This does not work so I unplug from the mains power.
I connect again. Once again it tells me the cartridges are empty and not genuine.
I go and buy a second set of genuine HP cartridges from PC World and install, careful that they are seated correctly.
Still no joy. Same empty cartridge/not genuine message pops up, and if I try and actually print, the screen on the printer again displays the connecting message until I decide to unplug from mains.
Thinking it could be the printhead, I power the printer back up, go to the tools on the printer screen and select clean printhead. A message appears on the printer screen 'cleaning printhead'. It has stayed like this for over an hour, without any signs of cleaning - movement or noise.
I have even tried cancelling the error messages following the HP step by step process, but still no joy.
So, 2 sets of brand new HP Cartridges down, 2 uninstalls/reinstalls, and my printer still does not work.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this could be? To me it seems as though its the printer itself and not the software/drivers on the computer.
Any help would be much appreciated.
