Hi 8lives,
Yes, I forgot to mention that I did recycle my router.
And the print spooler is empty of files (but see below).
Entering the printer IP (192.168.0.104) into the browser produces the display of the printer's settings.
When I try to print, there is a momentary flash of a small window in which I can read (by making it repeat several times!): "Printing... on the HP Officejet Pro L7700 Series (Copy 1) on HP_192.168.0.103_MY85J85070..."
This is the wrong IP for the printer. So it would seem that this is the problem but the IP adress shown for this printer in Device Manager is the correct one, viz. 192.168.0.104. So I have no idea why the incorrect IP is appearing when I try to print.
One other odd thing is that if I click on the Taskbar icon '...documents pending...', *two* windows open to show what is in the spooler - one is titled "HP Officejet Pro L7700 Series" and the other "HP Officejet Pro L7700 Series (Copy 1)". The first one contains no data; but the second one contains several entries corresponding to the number of times I tried to read the momentary message I mentioned above and is shown as the Default Printer.
I have no idea how Win7 can show TWO 'copies' of the L7780, each with a different IP address, but this is obviously what is causing the problem.
How do I deal with this duplication?
Mark
