The Printer Assistant no longer loads when desktop icon is accessed. I uninstalled and reinstalled the device software both from the original installation disk and from the online troubleshooter. Printer Asst. appeared once (in a different format from original installed version) but not again.
I have read dozens of solutions on this site and on the web at large. Two problems: 1) my Windows 7 64bit has no "run" command from the Start button or anywhere else immediately accessible, and this is the second step in most all the recommended solutions. 2) Device drivers for HP 3050A J611series are tagged with a final letter, such as a or g. However, nowhere on the body of the device, nor on the installation CD, nor on any diagnostic is this all-in-one identified by anything other than J611 series - no letter designation at all.
I had a devil of a time getting the re-installed software with the device re-connected to my home network, but now it is, with full print and scan functionality - except no Printer Assistant.
Any help would be appreciated.
