Hi @lisah-ss,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
The Error 0x800f020b you're seeing with the HP - Printer - 20.80.3.9568 update in Windows 11 usually means that Windows Update is trying to install a printer driver that either:
- Doesn’t match any connected device, or
- Failed during a previous install and is now stuck in the update history.
Here’s how you can remove or hide this failed update and stop it from reappearing:
Fix: Hide the Problematic Update
- Download the “Show or Hide Updates” Troubleshooter:
- Click here to download from Microsoft
- Run the Tool:
- Open the downloaded file (wushowhide.diagcab).
- Click Next, then select Hide updates.
- Look for HP - Printer - 20.80.3.9568 in the list and check it.
- Click Next to hide it.
This will prevent Windows from trying to install that update again.
Optional: Clean Up Device Manager
If the printer or driver is still listed in Device Manager:
- Press Win + X → choose Device Manager.
- Expand Print queues or Printers.
- Right-click any HP printer entries and choose Uninstall device.
- Also, check Software components or Universal Serial Bus controllers for any HP-related entries and remove them if not needed.
Restart and Check Again
- Restart your PC.
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
- The HP update should no longer appear or fail.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
