@Polly75, hanks for your update—and sorry to hear the flashing issue is still hanging around. Let’s try a few more steps to get you up and running.
Since you've already:
Removed all orange tabs and plugs
Properly seated the printheads
Closed the printhead access cover
Let’s now move on to additional troubleshooting:
Hard Reset the Printer
Turn on the printer.
With the printer on, disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet first, then into the printer.
Power the printer back on.
Sometimes a hard reset clears stubborn hardware errors.
Clean the Printhead Contacts
Power off the printer and open the printhead area.
Remove both printheads again.
Gently wipe the copper contacts on the printheads and the contact area inside the printer with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
Let it dry for a minute or two.
Reinsert the printheads carefully and securely.
Check the Carriage Movement
Open the ink access door and:
Make sure the carriage (the part that holds the printheads) moves freely side to side.
If it’s stuck or restricted, there might be packing material or an obstruction.
