Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The flashing color ink cartridge light and 'i' (Information) button on your HP DeskJet 2722 indicate an issue with the ink cartridge, which may be preventing the printer from functioning properly. Here’s how to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check the Ink Cartridge
- Open the ink cartridge door while the printer is on.
- Wait for the cartridge carriage to stop moving.
- Remove the color ink cartridge and inspect it:
- Check for any visible damage or leaks.
- Ensure the protective plastic tape has been removed (if it’s a new cartridge).
- Wipe the gold-colored contact points on the cartridge gently with a lint-free cloth.
- Reinsert the color cartridge properly and ensure it clicks into place.
- Close the cartridge door and check if the light stops flashing.
Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
- Wait 2-3 minutes.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check if the issue persists.
Check for Ink Cartridge Compatibility
- If you recently replaced the color ink, ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges.
- If the cartridge is non-HP or refilled, it may not be recognized correctly.
Reinstall the Printer on Your PC
Since your PC is saying the printer is not connected:
- Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on the HP DeskJet 2722 and select Remove Device.
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall the printer:
- Download and install the latest HP Smart app or HP Full Driver Software from the HP website.
- Follow the instructions to reconnect the printer.
Hard Reset the Printer (if needed)
If the issue persists, try a hard reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
After following these steps, check if the error lights clear up and if your PC can detect the printer again.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
