@Hima565, Thank you for your response.

No problem, and I hope your exams went well! Since the issue persists after trying the previous steps, let's try some advanced troubleshooting to resolve the cropping problem on 4x6 prints.

Use HP Photo Printing Software

Instead of printing through regular apps, try HP Smart or HP Photo Creations (if available). These apps are optimized for HP printers and may handle 4x6 printing better.

  1. Open HP Smart and go to Print Photos.
  2. Select your 4x6 image.
  3. Choose Borderless Printing and check if there’s an option to disable auto-cropping.
  4. Print and see if the issue is resolved.

Adjust "Paper Source" in Printer Settings

  • In Printing Preferences, go to Paper/Quality settings.
  • Change Paper Source to Photo Tray or Main Tray, depending on where you load the 4x6 paper.
  • Ensure Paper Type is set to HP Photo Paper (or glossy, if applicable).

Change "Printable Area" Setting

Some HP printers allow you to modify the printable area.

  1. Open Printer Preferences.
  2. Look for an option like “Advanced” > “Printable Area”.
  3. Set it to Maximum or Borderless.

Test With a Different Image File Format

  • If you’re printing a JPEG, try converting it to PNG or TIFF before printing.
  • Some image formats have embedded margins that could be affecting print size.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset on the Printer

If software settings don't work, try a semi-full reset to reset the printer firmware and settings:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Reconnect the power cord and turn it on.
  4. Try printing a 4x6 test image again.

Try Printing via USB Instead of Wi-Fi

Sometimes, printing over Wi-Fi can cause scaling issues. Try connecting via USB cable and printing directly.

I hope this helps!
