Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 5 minutes.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (not a power strip).
- Turn on the printer and check if it goes past the maintenance message.
Check for a Firmware Update (If Possible)
If the printer lets you access the HP Smart app or printer settings, update the firmware:
- Open the HP Smart app on your PC or phone.
- Go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Firmware Update.
- If an update is available, install it.
- Restart the printer.
Reset the Printer to Factory Settings
If the issue persists, try a semi-full reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Press and hold "Back" (⬅️) and "Cancel" (❌) at the same time.
- While holding those buttons, plug the printer back in.
- Keep holding until you see the HP logo or reset options.
- Select "Reset to Factory Defaults".
Check for Hardware Issues
- Open the printer cover and check if any paper is stuck inside.
- Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges.
- If you recently changed ink cartridges, try putting the old ones back in and restarting.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
