@AJFish,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Please find the below troubleshooting steps

Align the Printhead

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to:
  • Print an alignment page and check if the issue improves.

2. Print a Nozzle Check/Test Page

  • Go to Printer Settings > Print Quality Tools > Print Nozzle Check.
  • If any color is missing or uneven, run a printhead cleaning cycle.

3. Clean the Printhead (If Applicable)

  • If the printer allows, remove the printhead and clean it manually using distilled water and a lint-free cloth.
  • Let it dry completely before reinstalling.

4. Remove and Reseat the Cartridges

  • Take out all the cartridges.
  • Shake them gently and reinstall firmly.
  • Ensure they click into place properly.

5. Run a Color Calibration

  • If the printer supports it, run a color calibration via:
  • This helps correct misalignment between color layers.

6. Try New Cartridges (If the Problem Persists)

  • Even though you're using HP OEM cartridges, they can still fail.
  • Try replacing the yellow and cyan cartridges with new ones.

  • Based on your interpretation, yellow and cyan seem to be the issue.
  • Run alignment, nozzle checks, and printhead cleaning.
  • If the issue remains, replace yellow and cyan cartridges or check for a faulty printhead.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
