Hi @kawamichelle, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The E0 error on your HP ENVY 6055 usually indicates a problem with the ink cartridge or cartridge detection system. Since you've already tried the common troubleshooting steps (replacing the cartridge, cleaning contacts, and checking firmware updates), here are a few additional things you can try:
Check Cartridge Installation:
Make sure the new black cartridge is installed correctly. It should click into place firmly. Sometimes, if it's slightly misaligned, the printer won’t recognize it properly.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
Sometimes, the contacts on the cartridges or inside the printer may get dirty or covered in ink residue, preventing proper communication. Carefully clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dampened with distilled water. Make sure the cartridges are dry before reinstalling them.
Try Another Cartridge Slot:
If the printer has separate slots for the color and black cartridges, try swapping the cartridges (put the black cartridge in the color slot and vice versa) to rule out a faulty slot.
Reset the Printer:
Perform a hard reset: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for about 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges:
Ensure you’re using a genuine HP cartridge.
Check for Obstructions:
Inspect the area around the cartridge for any paper or debris that might be preventing proper cartridge movement or detection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
