Hi @Ksalvage, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Ah, the dreaded "Tray Full Sensor" drama! It's like your printer thinks it's drowning in paper even when it’s practically spacious in there. This little feature, bless its heart, can sometimes be a bit overly enthusiastic about keeping things tidy. But no sweat, we've got a few moves to gently nudge it back to reality. Let's troubleshoot this!

1. Check and Clean the Output Tray Sensor

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the output tray and look for any paper debris or dust around the sensor (usually located near the output tray mechanism).
  • Use a soft cloth or compressed air to clean the area.
  • Plug the printer back in and test printing again.

2. Disable "Wait for Page Removal" (if available)

Check if this can be disabled:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Preferences > Output Settings (or a similar option).
  • Look for "Wait for Page Removal" or "Pause Between Prints" and turn it OFF.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  • Outdated firmware may cause tray sensor issues. Update your printer’s firmware via:
    • HP Smart app (on PC or mobile).
    • HP Support website (download the latest firmware for HP OfficeJet Pro 9022).

4. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cable for 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and restart the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take great care, and wishing you lightning-fast and flawless printing adventures from here on out! 🖨💨
