Hi @NVee,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "E6 General Printer Failure" on the HP Envy 6455e, accompanied by all the lights flashing and the power button being unresponsive, typically indicates a hardware or firmware issue. Here's how to troubleshoot the problem.
Perform a Power Reset
- Turn off the printer by unplugging it from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds to ensure the printer completely resets.
- Plug the printer back into a direct wall outlet (avoid surge protectors or power strips).
- Turn on the printer and check if the issue persists.
Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open the printer cover and check for any paper jams or foreign objects inside.
- Remove any visible obstructions carefully to avoid damaging the printer.
- Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the input tray.
Reset the Printer
- With the printer powered on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait two minutes.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and the wall outlet.
- Turn the printer back on.
Update Firmware
If the printer powers on successfully:
- Ensure the printer is connected to a network.
- Use the HP Smart app or the printer's web interface to check for and install firmware updates.
Perform a Factory Reset
If the issue persists:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the Power button and Cancel button (or a combination listed in your printer's manual for a factory reset).
- Continue holding the buttons until the printer restarts.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
