Re: Paper jam on Laser Jet Pro 200 Color M251 nw

The problem is that sometime the paper gets jammed in the fuser section and you cannot see it at all, not from the rear, not from the top.

Maybe you will see a tiny bit of it but not enough to hold it and pull it out.

This happens especially when you use thinner paper.

The ONLY solution there is to disassemble the printer and try to remove the jammed paper from the fuser assembly.

This sounds daunting, but if you are mechanically inclined, its not difficult.

Technical difficulty: medium

Time required: about 1 hour

First you need to download the service manual for this printer from:

http://www.feedroller.com/Store/Service%20Manual/HP-CLJ-M251-Pro-200-Service-Manual.pdf

Go to page 64 of the manual which tells you how to remove the FUSER.

Of course to remove the fuser you have to first remove the right, left, top. rear right, rear upper cover.

NO NEED to remove the rear door and rear lower cover since that covers one cable connector which is not necessary to disconnect.

Once you have the fuser in your hands, you can look at it easily and see the paper all wound up around the fuser drum.

Then carefully using some soft plastic instruments try to pry the paper out and grab it with needle nose pliers and pull it out.

It may look impossible, but it just needs a bit of time to play with the paper, ultimately it comes out.

put back everything in the revese order and you are done.

If you still need any help let me know.
