How is the printer connected (USB/wireless/Wi-Fi Direct)?
From what you're describing, you're using printer sharing, which HP does not support. Printer sharing is an old method of sharing a non-wireless or non-networked (ethernet) printer.
This printer is capable of connecting to the network through the wireless connections. Instead of sharing the printer from your computer with the USB connection using printer sharing, connect the printer to the network.
