Print & Scan Doctor print test fails, but printer, fax, scanner, and copier work.

I don't use it wirelessly, but it's the A909g, connected by USB,   Windows 7. 

Cannot print from computer - which is why Scan Doctor print test failed.

 

Getting warning 1909, but Solution Center opens and works - after multiple warnings. Win 7 error: "warning 1909 could not create shortcut HP Solution Center lnk.  Verify that the destination folder exists and that you can access it."

The printer prints, but I could not print from the computer on Thursday.

Ran every HP diagnostic (with contradictory software results), but I reinstalled HP full service software - four, five, or seven times since Friday.  Nothing should take this long to fix.  Nobody should have to do five (or more) reinstalls.  Complete (full) uninstalls first, restarting, rebooted power, also.  Everything imaginable from my end.

 

Have no idea what changed, excepl replacing a new ink cartridge and that doesn't interfere - or it never has in eight years.

No other changes have been made - as I said, although many times Microsoft updates cause repeated conflicts with HP.  The conflicts are always limited to Solution Center and always eventually resolve.  Annoying as hell, but par for the course with HP printers, from my vast experience.

I have a MS update waiting for me - maybe that will fix things. 

 

You have all the information necessary to provide an answer.

This is my office computer and I am screwed without a printer from my laptop.

 

Checked Drivers - up to date.

Diagnostics said there was updated software, but HP.com says I have the latest software.

Downloaded Support Solutions Framework (twice) and will uninstall bloatware again.

No diagnostics could troubleshoot to a successful conclusion.

 

I will uninstall all of the useless diagnostics and extra downloads that are totally unnecessary, as my printer works fine day after day and then one day it does not.
