Printer won't print in color

My printer will not print any color.  I have made sure all ink cartridge's are new and full.  I have turned the printer off and on.  I have reinstalled the cartridges. I have cleaned the print heads.  And I have deleted and reinstalled the driver.  The device has worked correctly previously.  It appears that the update the printer performed, via internet, a day or two back has caused this error.  Please advise as to how I and A) correct some sort of setting so that my printer will print in color or B) return to previously OS prior to update.

Hello Krazy Toad

 

I've followed all your instructions.

 

The problem is that my computer  keeps telling me that the drivers can't be removed because they being used at that time.

 

Which is a blatant ly.

 

I've tried  both options: removing the drivers and the driverpackages ( if that is what they are called; I'm translating from Dutch into English ! ), nothing works; same problem, same computermessage.

Thank you for your help.  I have followed the recommended steps, the problem still remains.  I'm getting the same feint print with two different cartridges, one is brand new, so it must be some kind of hardware problem.  Time to buy a new printer I guess!

Hello,

since I changed my laptop I cannot print documents on both sides correctly. Both settings (on long side and short side) print the same.

The document cannot be used because the second page is upside down.

I deleted your program and the printer, and installed again and the problem is still there.

ABSOLUTELY 

 

I even took it apart, found a blank smooth page in the feeder. Removed it, put it back together

DID NOT PUT THE CARTRIDGES BACK IN and turned the printer back on and got the same error message about needing to reinstall the cartridges. . . BUT THERE WERE NO CARTRIDGES

 

DOES THAT SEEM RIGHT?

 

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT ERROR MSG IS STUCK IN THE MEMORY?  I am feeling so frustrated.

The only way to test to print using the machine and see if it detects the paper.

 

For sure! That's I did it since the beginning and my conclusion is that for the printer, there is no paper inserted. Btw, this is the message sent by the printer to Windows which displays the message 'insert paper in the printer'.

 


This seems like a hardware issue with the printer

 Definitely YES.

I'll contact an HP support: note that this printer in anymore covered by warranty. I hope they can do something for me.

I don't know if I wrote it, by the scanner works perfectly.

HELP! HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus 'Locked'

Hello,

 

Recently I was exploring my HP Office jet Pro Plus' capabilities and I must have accidentally switched a feature to on as I now can not use the 'Wireless Setup Wizard' among st other features. I was inside of the embedded web server portion of my printer and I recall tinkering with the encryption settings but I don't remember turning any to 'ON.' Anyways I am now locked out of several features and my printer is stuck in 'Offline' mode. 1) Wireless, Wireless Direct, Wireless Setup Wizard and Wi-Fi Protected Setup now have a little white panel lock avatar beside them on my printer's on device screen. My Wireless on the printer, says that it is on but I can not access it as I get a message that states, "The feature has been locked by your system administrator or the person who setup the printer." The 'Restore Network Defaults' is also locked with the little white panel lock avatar displaying. I am lost as to how to fix this and would really appreciate any sort of help or suggestions on this issue, thank you very much in advance to those who post.

I have done everything you mentioned before sending the original post as I researched this earlier. As said I can use the maintenance app to communicate with printer and even print a test page. However, for normal printing the only outcome is a 'error printing' message with no further explanation of what the error is. Seems a bit of under development that the software cannot even give a reason for the error.

That is by default lit up and does not affect any printer functions. It is the help icon and you can use it in case you need any help with the printer functions.

 

You can just let it be and continue using the printer as usual.

probleme d'impression avec hp 4520

bonjour nous avons 3 pc a la maison et 3 smartphones l'imprimante fonctionne parfaitement avec deux pc et avec les 3 telephones mais on ne peut rien editer a partir d'un pc (windows10) .L'installation de l'imprimante a ete effectuée avec le cd fourni lors de l'achat .Sur le pc ou cela ne fonctionne pas l'impression reste en file d'attente et on est oblige d'annuler les impressions  partir des pc qui fonctionne 

j'ai verifie tous les parametres mais rien n'y fait

I see that the printer is experiencing carriage jam, I'd suggest you follow the steps from the document 'Carriage Jam' or 'E3' Error Displays to resolve the issue.

 

If the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Ink Cartridge error after replacing cartridges

I have replaced both Ink cartridges on my printer. The display now shows "Ink Cartridge Problem. The following Ink Cartridges must be replaced". I have done the disconnect from power source, reset option but the message still appears.

Any other suggestions please?

Looks like a printhead ( black nozzles) problem. When printing pdf as an image printer uses all 6 colours to mix black and the colours mixed compensate (cover)  missing sections in black nozzles (those lines in the black square on the 2nd page of the diagnostic print sheet).

Try cleaning cycle again (don't force too many cleaning cycles) one cleaning per day leave printer unused after cleaning, check for improvement in quality the next day.

If the issue isn't resolved you can increase print quality in the print driver or program (MS Word) settings. In this scenario, the printer will also use colours to print black and your print should be fine. Print speed will be slower.

Hi, thanks for your response. However, this is not the solution to the problem I have. I don't have an issue using colour (after I reinstall driver) or black. 

My problem is, Windows 10 keeps resetting my printer to monochrome and unless I uninstall (using the instructions in my original post) I can't change it to colour.

Are you using HP photo paper?  Printer driver adjusted to print on a specific media?

Some low-quality glossy photo papers can cause ink not to dry.
